The difference between good support and bad support is that 30 minutes in a good support will still have decent items. Just make your cs count when your carry/lane partner isn't farming in lane. If you have 1 free wave that should be all the creeps for you. Don't be afraid to spam your spells to clear the wave out if your about to go heal too. You can also as midgame comes around (depending on hero) clear the level 1 creep camp very easily for a small amount of gold. Just don't port to a lane to farm it if your team needs you for a push/counter gank and you'll be good.

Right now i'm playing the Polywogg Priest, whom i've been told is a support charcater. Is it good to stick to one hero? Is it better to mix it up? I'm still learning the basics of when to attack/defend/whatnot, so we won't touch on that ![]() How important is denying in pub games? Also, I've looked up a couple builds and item lists, when is a good time to transition from one setup to the next?

* 2 Astrolabes per team * 1 Puzzlebox per team * 1 Ring of Sorcery per team * 2 crowd control items per team (Totem of Kuldra/Stormspirit) Don't recall seeing this shit in dota

* 1 Puzzlebox per team * 1 Ring of Sorcery per team * 2 crowd control items per team (Totem of Kuldra/Stormspirit) = 2 Meks 1 Necromicon 1 AR 2 Hex/Euls. Seems about right.

I've checked WCG, ADC and Farm4Fame and no such item restrictions Uhh, Necro3s were restricted to 1, Refresher to 1, Meka to 1 and then 2, Euls/Guinsoo any combination of 2 or 3. The only relevant one now is Necro3 and Guinsoo/Euls.

I just checked the different leagues when I made my post ;o Its more or less unwritten at this point in highly competitive leagues, most teams familiar with the scene just go by the "standard" rules. That being said, before these rules were added, it led to some of the coolest team fights around; if you ever get to watch CAL-I season 1 and 2 finals, do so.
