I also agree fully with the HoN/DotA/LoL being extremely unfriendly to observers. However, I believe that all games are very unfriendly to casual observers even games like Starcraft 2 and Brood War. It's the other way around, once the scene gets big enough with the necessary and continual support of the makers, the sponsors and tournaments will come. SC2/BW are easier to explain to people many times over than HDL. The difference is again, the commentators and the scene in general. There's no real life meet up for HDL like a MLG or a fighting game major simply because getting 5 motherfuckers together is hard as fuck never mind 3 or 4 teams.

And people need to shut the hell up with HoN vs LoL jesus fucking christ every HoN thread that has popped up on TL is people saying "Lol x is better" and haven't even played the other game. Everyone saying HoN is more competitive, give your reasons why you think so. Everyone has been spitting the phrase out since HoN came out and I still don't see anyone posting why it is so. At the most, it's stupid shit like "you can't deny creeps" or "there are no runes" and even "i played 10 games of LoL and I won all of them and the players were so bad. Everyone that plays LoL must be giant fucking noobs." And that seriously makes a game more competitive? Likewise, the LoL fanboys are essentially complaining that HoN isn't the same game as LoL. It's a different fucking game, we don't need a fucking separate stat for magic damage nor do we need cooldown and energy based heroes. I can understand if you don't like the game but stop giving bullshit reasons to hide the fact that you've spend 2 hours on the other game before calling it bad and uninstalling.

Hon is crashing my internetz!!
So, it does this about 1 hour after I join HoN, always in game.
My internet crashes and the browser says that the DNS service is screwed, but IP-search won't work either.
I tried disabling my network card but it says something that's not PnP is using it, so it can't be disabled.
The only way I can fix this is with a full system restart. WTF is this crap?
And yes, it only happens in HoN, only in game. Happened 5 times since yesterday. -_-

I did not but I really doubt that will fix it, since non-DNS look-ups won't work either. I can't even connect to my router, so my network card is completely jammed.

Can't really help you there. I haven't had any problems like that with HoN. Maybe try asking their tech support?

But it is very fun to play. You can do your best to avoid the community by playing with people from the TL clan and such. But in general, if you ask "how do you do X?" in-game, you probably won't get "oh, you do Y". You'll probably hear "fuck you noob" sadly enough.

It depends I think. The more "noobish" the game (basically a game with all newcomers or poor players) the more flaming ensues. More experienced players are usually past their rage stage and don't diss newbies so much as long as they're eager to learn (or they just ignore them). At 1600-1700 level games it's pretty customary that there's usually "this one guy" that ruins it for the team. But it's ok since most of the time the other team has one too.

I've been waiting 10+ minutes with literally everything thumbed up. It's gotten quite ridiculous, and I have noticed any change in the skill of the players I'm being matched up with. Half the time they suck, half the time they're smurfs.
