Generally you have to either pick jeraziah off (either chain disable him during the teamfight so he can't ulti or somehow pick him off before it) or try to bait/force his ulti out at a bad time (ex a 4v2 gank or something) Engineer is a pretty good counterpick if you can grab him, since his ulti is a huge ring of purge; the hero kind of sucks in general though. Electrician works okay as a counterpick but suffers from the same problem as nullfire; if they have more than 1 source of damage you're pretty screwed, and if your opponents aren't out of position it's generally hard to pick someone off while the rest of their team is invincible The easiest way to beat him in a pub is to stomp every lane to the point where he's useless because his team does no damage, but obviously that isn't going to happen every game. Picking up a ton of aoe disables works pretty well too (hb, magmus, behe, tort, bubbles etc) but that's true for any game. Here's a recent honcast with jera: http://honcast.com/video/2011/05/14/gosucup-main-event-group-stage-dwi-vs-sgty-game-2 Vindi counterpick on jera; assuming bubbles or magmus initiate a vindi silence is going to keep jera useless for a good amount of time. Jera trilane gets stomped since jera sucks in trilanes. Jera's team is behind by a decent margin, but they still win every teamfight where jera gets his ulti off. Purge is only really useful in small skirmishes. Dwi wins an important teamfight (bottom rax) when they manage to intiate on and kill jera before he gets his ulti off. | ||

If it's a pub, and you see the other team pick not even a cw worthly lineup, but a massively push heavy one, say. The conversation goes like this: Player 1 has picked sniper Player 2 has picked SA you: Hey guys, they're really push heavy, we need to counter it or we'll just lose in 20 minutes. Player 3: stfu noob I pro Player 2: np I kill fsat Player 1: solo mid Player 3 has picked terrorblade You: no, seriously guys, we can't all be agi carries, they'll just roll us, look, I'll take shaker, we need more aoe or disables. you pick shaker player 5: sry back player 5 has picked bounty hunter you: -.- Ok, this can still work, sniper you just need to get your shrapnel and if we survive it's ok. I'll do my best to get a dagger, and we can delay. SA we need your smoke up high - it'll keep our towers alive Player1 : wtf shrapnel noob skill Player 2: kk I get smoke (at level 14) Sure, you've done your best. You've tried. It's still not YOUR fault you've got rax down at 12 minutes to pugna furion chen techies cm. There is only so much you can do personally. When your allies sit and farm when you need to defend, when your towers fall like flies becuase the bh is busy killing gnolls for his vlads. Don't pretend this doesn't happen, becuase it does. If you think it doesn't, you clearly haven't played a PROPER pub in a long time. | ||

If you think it doesn't, you clearly haven't played a PROPER pub in a long time. there aren't degrees of "properness" of pubs, what a silly notion. this doesn't happen in the games i play, and i certainly play pubs. even if it did, if your allies are as bad as you assume they are, so are the enemy players, in which case you as es can just go around and crush the game since you can instagib all of them. quote messed up | ||

Well I can give a little leeway for DotA itself because there's no matchmaking. So you may be playing actually high rated people that won't leave gaps in their play. But in something like HoN where you have a personal ranking you should never be in a situation where your allies are costing you the game in a way that you can't prevent or work around. If nothing else you go out and win every game where you have even a sliver of hope and get your rating up so you don't play with such bad people anymore. Even if it is 'not your fault' just act like it's your fault and try to play better. If you had stomped face with ES it wouldn't matter how shitty your team was you probably still could have won it unless they were highly skilled. | ||

If you think it doesn't, you clearly haven't played a PROPER pub in a long time. This is, absolutely, no holds barred, 100%, completely the problem with pubs in DotA. I used to main ES because I thought, "es+average team = pwnage." Little did I realize that I would always get 4 agi carries with me, telling me how much I sucked for being 0-4-22 (in a good game). In games like you mentioned, people absolutely do not listen, and think, "I'll just go rice for 20 mins then I'll be pro." People absolutely do not understand the team aspect to the game. I stopped playing ES and now I just play OP Treeant because with a team he's great, and without a team he still comes out positive KDR so I don't have to listen to incessant whining from the 4 agi carry team. | ||

Yeah if you have a decent player on tempest or jeraziah in an SD or AR game you're pretty much guaranteed a decent advantage, but SD and AR are half luck anyways I got matched up against two people that would only play AP and lastpick jeraziah+someone to lane with him twice in a row, and they were probably 150~250 mmr above where they should've been | ||

Nullfire blade will purge all of jereziah's effects. Besides the heal. It's prob the best counter, engineer is the other good counter besides electrician. (his ult WILL purge all of the spells and silence jereziah, or force whoever is inside to take pretty extreme magic damage). | ||
