But I think I like almost every single S2 hero that they've put out so far.

There still will be a pool of more competetive heroes being selected which will usually be much smaller than the actual number of heroes. The games get more diverse on a casual level with larger hero pool but competetive games not so much. And personally I like HoN versions of heroes more as they fit them nicely into the world they had previously (Newerth) as I was an avid Savage player. Edit: And I almost forgot to mention the awesome voices for some of the heroes. Some are very fun and their lines are great (More shootin' less runnin'!) with extra level of detail for voices when you deny creeps etc.

From all that I gather Blizzard DOTA should actually be rather competitive. We will have to wait and see when it comes out though.

But I was just wondering if someone could give me a quick overview of the whole DotA vs HoN vs LoL thing - as far as gameplay differences, competitive aspect, or just in general. I've been reading around, but I figured I'd get the best info if I asked here. LoL: -A few gameplay features been removed from dota (denying, tp scrolls) and generally a different feel. -Runes that you have to unlock for your heroes to improve stats/mana regen/etc. -Free to play, everything is unlocked with either IP (stuff you earn by playing) or RP (you pay for this). -7 free heroes rotate every week for you to play. -You gain XP and go up levels to lvl 30, each level you get points that give small boosts that you can assign as you want. -Fun game overall, with a different style to dota/hon. (Though ultimately less complex) Dota: -Most heroes, most active competitive scene (pretty much through all levels of competitive play). -Old interface and all the problems coming with a game that uses WC3. i.e. laggy hosts, lots of different platforms to play, leavers if you are playing in the wrong place. (Most of these problems are easily avoidable tbh). -Biggest player base. HoN: -Game overall is very similar to dota, though it does play differently. (but lots of similar items, heroes and the main map is similar). -Improved in game interface, with S2 hosting all games on their servers. Reconnect tool, nice chat interface, auto match making. -Some shitty micro transaction shop if you wanna buy random shit. I'll definitely try it, but I really don't see it going anywhere as a competitive game or anything more than just another custom map.

D8ms was just temp banned for 2 days by Nyovne. That account was created on 2010-04-01 16:33:33 and had 67 posts. Reason: Don't be a game ruining pig, but that's one thing. Posting to brag about it to? Unacceptable. Manner up, I've got my eye on you. Hahaha

I tried ranked gaming client and it was okay, better than garena pubs, but I couldn't handle the euro server pings/delay so I've been looking for something similar. Would be great against madman, not to mention it's overall awesome item with hook -> mummies -> puzzlebox. are you talking about competitive games? I build it nearly every game on him. I think it's the single best item for boosting your dps inside mummies.
