Affinity rolls don't seem necessary, they come with 5% base so you're hitting 90% affinity with 2 piece set bonus from + Show Spoiler [lategame monster] +
gore magala
, WEX and max might, 100% affinity on wounds. Can easily fill in the last 10% with either a point in latent power or some points in expert/agitator if you really want to.
I have no idea what's optimal for ranged
I'll take a screenshot of my build and post it for you. It's probably pretty nonstandard but it works for me. I'm not trying to speedrun the hunts, so it works for me.
The new update is out and it's pretty challenging. At least Zoh Shia. I can solo Mitsuzune no problem. Zoh Shia is a bitch if you're not on top of your game. Had 4 people struggle bussing for 2 hours trying to get his ass. Got enough mats to craft half of his armors though lmao.
The Grand Hub is pretty cool, I went into a lobby and just walked around for a bit before I started the hunts. I'm sure it'll get better over the weekend with everyone off work.
I haven't tried any of the arenas yet as that's not reallymy forte on this game. I read that there was someone who was at the top with a 0'0" time. So they'll be banned I'm assuming. I don't get the purpose of cheating in games like this at all but who am I?
Overall, with the DLC and the cosmetics/armors/weapons/hunts, this is a really solid Title Update.
finally upgraded to a new desktop with 9070xt and now it runs pretty smooth at 4K. the higher resolution texture just doesn't work though, it reloads the texture non stop, making the game extremely laggy.
Overall I think the game is just one easy smooth ride, even zoh shia is very easy once you understand how to deal with that large area damage.
The monsters need some serious buff to keep up with all the additional things they added since World imo. They die too quickly, they can't land their hit easily, even basic block now can deal with 80% of all the attacks in the game if not more.

Play IG and let me know what you think. Zoh Shia sucked at debut to fight with IG because the spots were just not there for me to get a good snatch. I think if I went back in now, I'd probably be able to solo or run through it with 1 other person.
They've got the kill down to sub-4 minutes, so it is probably dying really fast (probably helps some people are no-lifing it and getting BiS for fights).

I never tried IG but I can give it a go. I killed it pretty consistently with GS, SnS and gun lance, with SnS I don’t even need a potion for multiple runs now that I have the Zoh Shia armor set I think the only one that feels like a proper challenging is tempered mizutsune, with pretty high damage and even one-shot move
Latest update is fun. I haven't played in almost 3 months lol. With the games and then the trip to Tokyo, I'm booty at IG right now. (Sidenote: I went to Osaka and saw the MH cafe. Forgot to go back and check it out -_-; I know...)

IG is fun to play just needs to make sure all your key binds makes sense. Since you can hold right click and do your left click and release it for to do big damage, and making sure you don't accidentally spend the powers while doing big damage.
It's a lot easier than it seems, but can be very intimidating at first.

I'll try to get online one of these days. Got a massive backlog of PS5 games that I'm trying to get through at the moment. Not even going to look at Steam or Epic games I've gotten but haven't looked at lol
