He is Strawman for his own interest (Being Mod of REDDIT!!!). Even though its hard to believe that he isnt. He has been "offensive" towards people: He tries to argue with hypothetical numbers which may affect things at some point. Because, you know, those Kickstarters (Who already paid) cant change their mind at some point

"why aren't the big names with big money investing money? why aren't the current investors giving Frost Giant another round of funding?" The company evaluated itself as a $150M company. This means they've given 16.67% of the company to Kakao Games in exchange for their $25M investment. No other knowledgeable investors want to invest any amount of money into Frost Giant for such a small piece of the company. So now, Frost Giant is hoping members of the general public will fund them for $5M and as a collective this group of investors will "own" about 3% of the company. No one thinks Frost Giant is worth $150M so no one wants to invest.

What happens if they don't hit the $5 Million? Every time I tune into a Stormgate twitch.tv stream the player is having difficulty finding games. Welp, in the past 2 days the player count has been above 50 for about an hour. The game needs an influx of players for the match making to work properly.

I'm in both camps that WombaT mentioned: skeptical about the commercial viability (as an unfortunate prerequisite) and hopeful for the gameplay. The negativity is a just backlash from the way they engaged with the community. It's now rather predatory. Anyone spending money or time (as you do, Spartak) must realize it might be lights out in a few months, so don't invest too naively. Negative, but realistic, comments are actually helpful to warn potential 'victims' and set grounded expectations. And don't burn yourself out replying to negative comments (unless you're actually compensated in some way; wait, don't burn out in that case either :p), it's a pointless losing battle.

Feb 22 has 3,600 games played. That means 225 games per hour during peak times and 75 games per hour during non-peak times. During non-peak times the 25 or so players playing 3 games each per hour are having problems finding games. Regarding the money problems at Frost Giant ... September 21 , 2023 is when the alarm bells first started ringing.

Useless edit: unless they play alone, which would explain why some find the game utterly boring

Regarding the September 21 interview... for the conspiracy minded ... this is their "hidden in plain sight" moment. LOL. For the less cynical, this kinda proves Frost Giant isn't some 4D Chess sophisticated rip off operation. An agent of the company stated they were looking for money. Any one following Frost Giant very carefully saw this coming months ago.

Are you sure? Yes, I am sure. There are about 4k matches per day right now. At the peak day of Steam Next Fest, there were 55k matches. Since that app had 5.1k peak concurrent players at that day, it should currently have around 350-400 peak concurrent players today based on that ratio.Stormgate world's #s are congruent with the #s on Steamcharts. As explained above, it is not. In any case, I was responding to your lie about the number of players dropping in the last 2 days when it clearly hasn't.And, they are both congruent with what i'm seeing on Twitch.tv when streamers need 10 minutes to find a game. This is the full VOD of Lowko's stream from yesterday:People can see for themselves how long it takes him to find a match.

That is the time people are having a hard time finding matches. Each time I brought up the issue I mentioned that time. On the 24 hour days when there are ~3600 matches there are HOURS where only 60 or so matches take place. It is DURING THOSE HOURS people take a long time to find games. The # of people online does not remain identical every hour. It goes up and down and is at its lowest between 4AM and 7AM EST. Based on numbers when it was open to everyone, there's clearly a lot of interest in the game. It just sucks for any one who paid $40 or $60 to have to sit in a queue for a long time. Frost Giant stated one of the main purposes of the Kickstarter was an opportunity to get into the beta test.

Not sure what point you are trying to make here... nobody is playing a closed beta game half a year before EA release in the middle of the night? shocker

Caveat Emptor. Very interesting interview with Tim Campbell from two weeks ago. Sounds like we've got a massive, expanding, deep lore behind the game. Dozens of villians and heroes... and morally ambigious "the ends justifies the means" characters. It is clear Tim Campbell knows how to weave a narrative and tell a story. So the Stormgate story should be really good. ![]()

REALLY I am amazed at this quiet quitting hall of famer. Worked 2 years on Esports preparation and gets out before a game is played? I know they hire from within this sphere to try to establish credibility, but the backswing of that is getting finessed by blockheads like this. Finish what you started MR TORCH! Destiny had a post long ago about how cronyism would be deadly for StarCraft and well the hot potato might be in the fucking hands of StormGiant here. Seriously in Trevor's three interviews about Esports planning you can actually hear the wind whistling through this sweet prince's head. ZERO IDEAS, ZERO INSIGHT, good grief. People talking about how Frost Gate's investment got absolute juiced. Well the trail of sweet nectar definitely has a stop at this man's feet. I like to imagine a pile of cheques accumulating beneath his desk chair for 2 years, you look up and my guy is spinning circles talking baby babble to himself, and all this because he snuck into the GSL with some hellion rushes - man that's bleak. Also to anyone in advance who sees that and thinks - oh well maybe he got all the systems established and the balls rolling and ready to go - really???? before any event happens???? Losing an early stage employee like this gives you a big messy pile of google docs and some ice-cold email chains and that's it. It does not get the ball rolling on anything. you really have to be left feeling for FrostCraft on this one. Now Trevor Housten is off to lead esports for the pokemon company, the hypergamous buffoon.
