Stormgate peaked at 986 this evening, and tailed off at ~930 players. I would have been fairly impressed by Stormgate if the game was pushed into early-alpha in the current state. this is what the invite-only early alpha should have looked like. if it was like this during early alpha, I think it would have generated a lot more excitement. the 1v1 multiplayer at least looks pretty engaging now at this point, I feel the likelihood of Microsoft bringing wc3 + sc2 out of maintenance mode is greater than the likelihood of Stormgate becoming an alternative RTS | ||

Weekend is one to watch and let's see what the drop off looks like in a week time. | ||

Unlike Battle Aces they aren't beholden to a parent company. The game is released. Could they put the game on maintenance mode? Sure. But I highly doubt they will shut off the lights entirely. How much could it cost to maintain a server? | ||
