The cool thing about all the invested people is, they bought in at a fictional 150 mil valuation. Then they also do free marketing/white knighting on the forums. If i worked at FGS, i would laugh my ass off.
If I worked at FGS, I'd probably be too worried about getting laid off to cut costs to find it very funny.

i dont think anyone's getting laid off yet. in a year if the game is still not profitable sure but i imagine they at least wanna see through to 1.0 and make the game as best as possible until then.
Finally got around and played a little. Appartenly as an early beta tester I got access to this early EA release as well. Haven't paid a dime yet. The campaign is very WC3'ish, unfortunately also graphic wise. This is not something I expected in the year 2024 from a AA developer. I gotta admit: This is just not good enough. General gameplay is nice though, feels crisp. Unit interaction is good. TTK is okay for me. I'm slow :D I don't mind the graphics / art style as much in 1v1. Haven't played any Coop yet. Will do so when my friends have access as well but reading some of the stuff you guys wrote with FPS drops... ouch.
How did we get from this 2 years ago to what we have now? :/

They still gotta have enough money. They either need to cut down esports funding or campaign imo. Both of them are huge spender.
That is a pre-rendered cinematic. What you can compare that to is the opening cinematic of the game where the Stormgate opens. These types of cinematics cost a lot. Of course we wouldn't be getting a bunch of them. You get a handful of CGI cinematics even in Blizzard RTSes. There are two more types of cutscenes. The character models and animation for cutscenes that are played in between missions need work of course and FG admitted as much. The cutscenes that are played during a mission are using in-game models though, so it is not really possible to look them all that great. I think they should just stop using close up shots for those. SC2 in-game character models look even worse than SG ones but you don't get to see them because there are no close-up shots during the mission.

i dont think it will be esports. they already said that will be funded through war chests (not currently in the game yet).

Hard to imagine it taking off without FG backing it for at least a year straight

We are taking the servers down for … reasons tomorrow. Be sure to check in.
So it's 100% a balance patch today when the servers go down.
Predictions? Krii getting nerfed, what else?
Judging from the fact they did absolutely 0 hotfixes it's going to be a redesign angle rather than a traditional balance patch. (Which is still kind of inexcusable imo. Even if you know you're going to change it at least do something.)

It pretty much does. Around 3-5x worse performance than SC2, which already struggles on lower end systems and benefits greatly from beefy ones when doing modes outside of 1v1.

im not so sure that they really have the workflow to hotfix efficiently. best i can guess is that they have some frequency of patches planned (unrelated to balancing 1v1) and they're gonna try to get balance updates implemented along with them when possible and necessary. obviously it's necessary right now so i'd think they're trying to get it in. but hypothetically there could be another patch when 1v1 gameplay is going pretty well that they don't do any balancing
Have they abandoned the idea of having 3v3 be one of the "official" game modes that the game was balanced around? That was one of the early promises they made that got me interested, but I'd imagine by now it's been completely forgotten about.

Won't that make them very clumsy to use especially for magmadons. Will they be constantly blocked by your own units?
Magma already get phasing with trample active yes? So those along with Vulcan leap aren't really going to be affected as much as you think.

"Sovereign's Watch: Near a completed friendly collection array"
Literally the first thing I checked and you can activate it while it's building. Jesus christ.
Only other gripe is Roll Out's reactivation period needs to be doubled at a minimum at the very least. Outside of that remaining hopeful.

balance feels awful for cel after patch, just me? might go back to infernals which i played in previous tests... without kri the army moves sooooo slow.
