EPTI decided to write a thread for discussing the announcements at Blizzcon. Rumour is that 3 things are likely to happen at blizzcon. 1. New game mode. 2. New hero reveal. 3. New overwatch short. I'll give some information regarding each piece.
1. New Game mode. The rumours are that a koth 2 point capture is the new game mode. A map reveal and discussion of this on panels is expected.
2. New hero:
The last hints we have are a rework on symmetra, the leap frog hero which is more about stealing and skipping areas by using the teleporter. The new hero could be Sombra or another hero. The clues given were based off some sombra artwork. The developers were careful to say that one of the heroes is close to ready and the other is far off. It likely given an artwork leak from the blizzard store page that its going to Sombra.

3. New overwatch short. As of yet there is no short on Volskaya. Volskaya is the place where the next steps of the overwatch story plays out. Details about Zarya and Sombra Likely will be the next focus. Volskaya itself has many bits of audio. Which indicate that Volskaya is a place where meching piloted robots, Svyatogors, are made. The map has a restricted access area, and audio that says обнаружено несанкционированное проникновение, система безопасности нарушена, запущен протокол блокировки
Which approximately translates to Unauthorized Access Detected, Security Breach Detected Activating defensive protocol.

Competitive discussion

Lastly some comments are expected to be made about the competitive arena of overwatch. In general teams that are running more ultimate synergy are beating teams running the aim specific classes. For example, widow which has a weak ultimate may not be as good as running reaper even if dying as reaper, because you can do so more with ultimates. UltWatch season 3 ptr is being tested to see how slower ultimates make the game play out differently.
