Gotta give props to how incredible their output is for producing when I remember how bad ps5 was hard to say. I know in New York state and Canada's 2 most populous provinces there are Switch2's every where I go. In my area, the supply of Switch2's is a non-issue. On October 22 2025 02:21 DarkPlasmaBall wrote: I'm glad your wrestling itch is being scratched (a little, at least)! Japanese developers and companies take pro wrestling video games far more seriously than American and European companies. Spike/Chunsoft/Human , AKI , Yuke's , Technos are all Japanese. These companies have made all the best wrestling games over the last 40 years. 1991 Wrestlefest by Technos, 1997-2001 No Mercy/WCW Revenge series for N64 by AKI, Spike/Chunsoft/Human made Fire Pro series over 40 years. Fire Pro Wrestling got its start on the Super Nintendo. The American made WWE2K series is designed to be obsolete in one year. When Spike or AKI or Technos makes a wrestling game.. it is designed to be timeless.

Just started playing Super Mario Galaxy 2 and I'm surprised to say that I'm slightly disappointed. Same stiff movement and linearity/repetitiveness as SMG1, and I'm still disinterested in using motion controls and firing star bits. Yoshi is cool, but also more limited than I had hoped. For me, 64 and Odyssey will remain top tier for 3D Mario games, while Sunshine, Galaxy 1, and Galaxy 2 will all be a step down. The former 2 are nearly perfect for me, while the latter 3 still range from good to great. None of them are bad, in my opinion. It was also pretty lame/lazy that the introduction for SMG2 was identical to SM64 though: Peach + letter + cake.

Is it as good as Super Mario Odyssey and Donkey Kong Bananza? Not quite, especially because Yooka and Laylee are not characters with the same expansive history as Mario and Donkey Kong. Is it still fun, quirky, sarcastic, and full of the fourth-wall breaks and inappropriate humor that made the Rare platformers amazing and unique? Yes! Is Yooka-Replaylee only $30? Also yes! (It's actually only $20 if you had already bought Yooka-Laylee!) YL was an A for me; YR is an A+.

Now, if you listen to the "rave reviews" carefully you'll notice they never discuss game play. They discuss the physical editions and all the extras included in the collection. They never discuss actual game play or any online things. They rave about "net code rollback". Ya well, that is great but useless with the amount of input lag in the games. Zero online features as well other than "Quick Match". You can't even play a friend. Nintendo Life did a nice job reviewing the game. https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/nintendo-switch-2/mortal-kombat-legacy-kollection On October 30 2025 23:14 DarkPlasmaBall wrote: AC:NH Switch 2 edition and updates for both editions, which makes me think that a new AC isn't coming out any time soon i don't know if there is much Nintendo could do to top their current AC offering. So many of the customer base bought the Switch Lite on the cheap along with AC. This customer base doesn't care about amazing FPS and 4K. They want a small handheld. Sometimes, "no play" is the best play. This is a ballsy, but necessary non-move by Nintendo. Regarding the Switch Lite: if it keeps selling then Nintendo should keep on making it. It is as different as possible on the spectrum of handhelds Nintendo makes. IMO, the customer base is there. give'em what they want. The publishers managed to hide this as this retro collection of fighting games was getting rave reviews right up until launch. Nintendo Life did a nice job reviewing the game. https://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/nintendo-switch-2/mortal-kombat-legacy-kollection I find that Nintendo Life generally has pretty good takes on a lot of the Switch / Switch 2 content (both hardware and software), so I look to them as one of a few pretty reliable Nintendo news sources! i don't know if there is much Nintendo could do to top their current AC offering. Also, Pokémon Pokopia is coming out sometime in 2026, and while it won't be identical to Animal Crossing, I think there will be overlapping communities of players. If Pokémon Pokopia ends up being huge, best to leave the next AC until 2027ish imo.

You can buy a Steamdeck or similar and get the first two, but if you also own a PC there are no exclusives, just form factor.

Yeah that's probably one of the reasons why the Steam Deck isn't that successful, comparatively.

Also, sometimes an input gets missed so you can't do a move like Raiden's flying move. One of your joystick moves gets missed.

DK Bonanza $50 CDN @ Costco. That's like $14 in real American money. ![]() what a great cheap Hanukkah gift! i will look like the superstar uncle! The push and pull between big retailers and MS/Sony/Nintendo is fascinating to watch. I have to wonder if Costco exterminated the XBOX to send a message to Nintendo and Sony. Costco can put the fear of God into Sony and Nintendo with this move. "ya, the crazy old man running this place is thinking of just getting rid of the whole video game section... we're sick of the crap". This then gives them more leverage and gets SOny and Nintendo to agree to better exclusive Costco deals. (I could see a Switch 2 Lite coming out in 2 years too... the Switch Lite came out 2 years after the Switch.) in 1990 i think the $900M handheld market was 1 monolith. Today, i think the $10B+handheld market has split into several distinct niche areas. I don't think we can lump in the $1000 handhelds with the $40 Pixel Pocket Pro that has a 2" screen. Nintendo has clear turf marked out in 2 distinct areas. The Nintendo Switch OLED and Switch 2 occupy one part of the handheld market. The Switch Lite is a much differently sized and priced unit occupying a different niche. It'll be interesting to see how hard Nintendo works to hold onto the market niche that Switch Lite currently occupies. I hope they do some innovative stuff in this area beyond just making a Switch2 Lite.
