A Gamefreak roadmap leaked with their projects until 2030, it seems legit. The most surprising part (or is it?) of the roadmap were the low budgets. The new 'main' games have a 20M budget, Z-A had a 13M budget. Considering their profit margins, that's criminally low lol. They could make these games so much better if they wanted to.
Yeah this seems legit to me too. As for the budget, I wonder how much of this is the decision to purposely not spend more money vs. the belief that the games are ideal as is (and the devs don't want to change anything else).
Game Freak’s current focus is Pokémon Gen 10, which is titled Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, reportedly set for 2026, followed by new downloadable content (DLC) in 2027. After that, the studio seems to be planning Pokémon Legends: Galar, with a release window sometime around 2027 or later. There’s also mention of a mysterious multi-region remake, expected to arrive closer to 2028 or beyond. ...
Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves (Gen 10): 2026 Pokémon Winds and Waves DLC: 2027 Pokémon Legends: Galar: 2027 or beyond Pokémon Multi-Region Remake (Codename: Seed): 2028 or beyond Pokémon Gen 11: 2030
I'm extremely pleased with my purchase of Pokemon Legends: Z-A. My anticipated worries ended up not being as bad as I thought, and I'm finding the gameplay loop incredibly fun (main quests, side quests, exploration, and catching wild Pokemon during the days; main quests, side quests, exploration, and battling trainers during the nights). The most important part of RPGs for me is the battle system, and I must say that the new action-packed, real-time, cooldown-based combat is absolutely exceptional. It's all really working for me, and quite frankly I hope this combat system appears in more Pokemon games.
I'm about 3/4 of the way done with the main story of the game, and I've also been focusing on side quests and filling the Pokedex every step of the way. Rotating through those different objectives has been really fun; nothing feels too redundant or boring. The game's tutorial (i.e., "the introduction that limits your exploration") is about 2-3 hours long - which feels a little longer than it needs to be - and after that you can explore almost the entire open world city. I think the verticality (parkour, scaling buildings and rooftops) is done pretty well too, though I wish the regions/biomes were larger and not quite as artificial (e.g., there's no explanation as to why one of the wild Pokemon zones in the city is all ice).
The scores and reviews for Pokemon Legends: Z-A have been all over the place, seemingly ranging from 10/10 to around 6/10, with a Metacritic average of 80% ( https://www.metacritic.com/game/pokemon-legends-z-a/critic-reviews/?platform=nintendo-switch-2 ). Most universal critiques include mundane graphics, a lack of voice acting, and the decision to have the entire game inside a single (albeit large) city. Positives include: framerate is smooth, story is unique (both Pokemon Legends games break the mold and don't simply repeat the gyms trope), characters are memorable, verticality is well constructed, gameplay loop is addicting, battle system feels amazing, and the Pokedex is surprisingly large (basically the same size as Pokemon Legends: Arceus). I haven't completed the game yet, and I don't know what the post-game has in store for me, but I've been enjoying the game so much that I even pulled an all-nighter from Saturday into Sunday. Unless something drastically changes within the game, I'm predicting that Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be landing around my A+ tier.
Thanks! I have a few minor criticisms (like not being able to mark up / manually label preferred map locations, like we could in Breath Of The Wild, to keep track of certain Pokemon / item locations), but those small issues are heavily outweighed by the positives (for me, at least).
Switch1 now has 2 solid wrestling games. Retromania Wrestling goes from a 6.5/10 to 7.75/10 with a $10 DLC. I might adjust my 7.75/10 scores upwards if I unearth more depth and strategy in the core combat loop. Also, AEW Fight Forever is quite good. I can still find matches for online PvP.
WWE2K25 is DQ-ed because of the kickout lag bug. I am surprised RGT85 glosses over this issue.
Most YouTubers have a cat or dog in the background to add warmth and friendliness to their review. RGT85 has a Hulk Hogan action figure in his background. .
At Walmarts in Canada the Switch1 is now $420 with Wii Sports as a pack-in title. Nintendo raised the price from $400 to $450 with no pack-in game recently. Same deal on amazon.ca as well. EDIT: at Walmart with no pack-in game the price is $410.
It has been interesting watching Nintendo And Microsoft try to increase their system prices and then getting resistance from powerful retailers.

Perhaps we can have a 500 post , 30 page debate that causes the MODs to do 10 hours of work reviewing our heated exchanges? 😎
the Switch 2 had a price drop that was supposed to be just 1 big retailer in France. It then spread to all of France. Now, that price drop is headed to the UK. The price drop in France has been talked about for weeks.
In about 90 minutes from now: "Join us on Oct. 23 at 6 a.m. PT for a second Kirby Air Riders Direct with director Mr. Sakurai. The livestreamed presentation will last roughly 60 minutes and feature more info on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 game. Pre-order Kirby Air Riders for Nintendo Switch 2 today: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/kirby-air-riders-switch-2 "
There are so many modes available in Kirby Air Riders! I'm impressed at how many ways you can play the game. All of the racing and combat look fun, movement/controls seem snappy and responsive, solid number of riders / vehicles / items / upgrades, the stages / courses look beautiful, and there's even a storyline! Definitely picking this game up. Sakurai also says, at the end of this Direct, "Just so you know, we're not planning a DLC. Everything is here!"
Release date is November 20, 2025; there will be a free online demo available on November 8th, 9th, and 10th; and both digital and physical versions exist (and can be pre-ordered as early as today).
Yeah he really does, which is why I hope that he continues to play a key role in the Super Smash Bros. franchise. Haven't heard any rumors yet about a new Smash game, but one of my favorite series of all time just won't be the same without Sakurai.
