I don't think I ever took long enough to run into them, but that's mostly because I usually don't use Kana and recruit her last.

The per-turn reinforcements that stuck out to me the most were the ones on Birthright 23 mostly because per-turn reinforcements on a rout map are bad design.

Player phase turn 16 is the last turn enemy reinforcements come. Great to know if you want the Exp, but if you're trying to just survive the map, just clear everything before turn 8 (kana's map).

Yeah I wanted to grind up some exp for my underleveled characters and to go into chapter 10 with some promoted units using paralogue 2 as exp farm. It's ridiculously annoying trying to keep all my characters alive though since the promoted units there will typically 1shot most of my characters with attack support.

It will probably be easier to beat chapter 10 than that paralogue, as the reinforcements are definitely not pushovers with your lack of 1-2 attack range units at this point in the game. Defensive stance and vulnerary spam will probably be a little bit more useful though than attack stance, but I don't think you'll be able to clear it at this point if you can't finish before enemy reinforcements spawn as the east/west enemies will be too difficult to hold off if you don't have the power to fast clear the other waves.

You should be able to beat chapter 10 without early promotions, which will make your mid to late game much easier.

There are a couple characters I could see level 10 promoting for Ch. 10 since you won't use them as endgame combat units anyway and the promotion isn't wasted because they'd still be worth promoting as pair-up fodder. If you're going to make Arthur a full pair-up bot, for example, you can instapromote him at 10 since he'd probably get level 10 promoted anyway eventually for his wife or Percy.

The nature of the XP curve plus chapters 11 and 12 being much easier than 10 (11 doesn't promote fast play and the DV on 12 makes it a joke level on anything below Lunatic) means that if you're having trouble on 10, it doesn't really hurt you at all to invest a little in an early promote like this just to beat it if you're having trouble.

Obviously you wouldn't do this with core combat units that have lategame potential.

Oh yeah, my "Father" tried to kill me at least 3 times and killed my mother and an entire town in front of me by tricking me into bringing a bomb with me. I'm sure now that I know he's a bastard, he'll accept me back with open arms.

I didn't notice that the DV moved on chapter 12 lunatic, which definitely explains why I couldn't remember how much of a bitch the top half formation was.

I was trying to grind up Mozu, and I finally beat paralogue 2 using some dragon bait tactics....didn't get as much exp as I wanted from the reinforcements, but I keep dying there anyways so whatever. After that, I just steamed through ch10 but I lost arthur...i'm gonna keep going in a different save file. Too lazy to redo the run, plus I don't like him anyways.

If you can't catch Mozu up to your party in her own paralogue, it won't be any easier to do it any time after that.

Still don't understand the fascination with trainee units, but whatever.

Mozu's an indispensable unit in my current run. She hit her skill and strength cap pretty quickly, and was the only unit on my team that could reliably hit some of the very dangerous enemies like chapter 23 Takumi. The +2 skill ability for archers has been very significant in practice, as she was the most reliable offensive unit from chapter 9 onwards.

After thinking about it and playing this run through, she's probably top 6 for me behind the royals (minus Leon) and Nils, and equal in value to Effie. The only investment she really needs is an iron bow, the parallel proof, and one chapter of EXP, while there isn't really an equivalent place to put those resources that early in the game that will give you more value. This team is extremely player phase oriented though, and a more defensively focused team probably wouldn't see the same value.

That being said, she's awful if you're doing a no reclass run, and if you can't make her self sufficient before chapter 10 (most notably her paralogue).

Edit: I think Sniper is her best class in Conquest, as the innate +10 accuracy is something your team probably needs more than another mounted flier.

Paladin Jakob. Jakob is unquestionably the best recipient of the first Parallel Seal.

Female Corrin + Paladin Jakob reclass is emerging as the dominant LTC strat for a reason--he makes ridiculous contributions to the early game that sets up all of your investment for later. Elbow Room+Defender simply isn't balanced around a unit that can get it at level 7.

He falls off later, but only to the degree of like FE7 Marcus, and that didn't stop Marcus from being one of the best units in the game because of how disproportionately high his early/midgame contributions were. Plus his personal means that he is always the best pair-up option for Female Kamui other than Gunther which means you can always take him to endgame, even though it might not be as a combat unit.

Conquest gives you 2 early Parallels Seals, but the problem is neither Jakob nor Mozu want to wait for the Ch. 8 one, and Jakob is a far better recipient of the one immediately gained from your castle.

Kamui's personal is also pretty ridiculous early game if you're running a Jakob centric strategy. I tried running Gunther this time around instead of Jakob, and for most of the game would have rather just ran with Jakob for the better early game and mobility. You get a free parallel proof in chapter 9 though, so using the two characters aren't mutually exclusive by any means unless you are specifically going LTC in which Mozu screws everything up. I was still too stingy this time around and saved it for Kamui instead, and am actually not sure how I had so much funds trouble the first time I played.

Edit: Class changing Jakob before chapter 10 isn't really that important imo, as it's still nice to have a staff user for chapter 9 for a lot of playstyles.

The 2nd parallel proof is troublesome because both characters really want out of E weapon ranks before ch 10.

True, I've had less problems with weapon exp this time around, but I had access to forged bronze by the time new weapon sets were available. Jacob will have less problems than Mozu though in that period stuck with bronze.

That's because Corrin passive + Elbow Room + Defender is a stupid amount of damage early game no matter what weapon you're using, lol.

Jakob has like 23 attack off a Bronze Lance with Corrin pair-up even with 0 Str levelups and not counting Corrin pair-up stats.
