this was almost identical build to my normal char, so i got bored with leveling him once the diminishing xp kicked in. besides, he can't do baal runs, and i remember well how boring it got to level my other necro with diablo runs.

PostPosted: Mon Dec 16, 2002 11:13 pm *sigh* I hoped I wouldn't have to post in this thread, but alas, here I am. ![]() UndeadTeletubby met his untimely demise today on the snowy peak of MountArreat. Name: UndeadTeletubby Class: Necromancer Level: 75 Cause of Death: Incredibly old crappy computer. Yesterday, UndeadTeletubby began Hell Difficulty with his two comrades-in-arms, Merrlynne the clumsy, "watch-me-teleport-into-a-mob-like-a-tard" Sorceress and Dr.Ruth_HC, a PMSey yet well talented Amazon warrior. They had a marathon questing session, and starting with no WPs at all, or any outside help, managed to make their way through the temperate western lands, dry arid desert, and the steamy jungles, calling it a night after Mephisto had been slain. Today, the adventurers set their sites on the youngest of the three brothers, and made their way through the firey pits of Hell, eventually taking him down with surprising ease (although the great beast seemed to have his sights set on Merrlynne, her friends quickly finished the demon off). Ahh, the frigid, snow covered lands of Harrogath. UndeadTeletubby had his sights set on Baal, as it would give him the title of a noble Guardian. He could feel it, he could taste it. Onward the trio marched (or teleported), laying waste to that evil Shenk, freeing some captured Barbarians, and saving a young woman trapped in ice. Before they knew it, they were in the Ancient's Way. UndeadTeletubby could feel his growing excitement over the upcoming battle, yet felt confident they'd win over the praise of the great Ancient warriors who guarded the Worldstone of Sanctuary. After locating the waypoint, they made their way up to the Summit, ready to test fate. With a full compliment of Revived troops, Mercenaries, Golem, and even a glowing Valkyrie, they were ready. Hydras and Decoys were set up, and minions surrounded the three. UndeadTeletubby, being the brave yet perhaps foolish person he was, opted to be the one to bring the ancients to life. Thus was his fatal mistake. For, after hitting the altar, UndeadTeletubby's world froze around him for about 10 seconds. Apparently, that was all the time it took. Once the world continued to move again, UndeadTeletubby lay slain by the hands of Korlic. Or so they say, for his world was frozen so long that the "xxx was slain by xxx" message had time to show up and go away before his computer unfroze. The only message that could be read, "Your deeds of valor will not be forgotten". Fortunately, UndeadTeletubby's companions were able to loot his slashed and mangled remains for the gear it possesed. Perhaps a new Necromancer will spring forth to free the world of Sanctuary from the evil that holds sway. Only time will tell. Just a special thanks to Kimmie and Nausea, I had a great time (until the death of course), and would've never made it that far without either of you. :-)

Baals throne room can do the same thing, but its easier to avoid.

1) a trustworthy isp (you lag in an uncomfortable place , you die) 2) a group of friends to help each other 3) 80% of your stat points on vitality and any streght charms you can get 4) having a sorc to do meph runs hell (this requires faster cast rate at max , i use to have a level 82 sorc (stasis + frozen orb) who would do meph hell runs in 1-3 minutes at most (without maphack)) Hardcore is indeed the most challenging thing on diablo , but is also very unpredictable due to the lag/disc factor which can often kill you. The easiest char you can play hardcore is a summoning necro , since all those skeletons will tank for you everything and it requires 2 much bad luck for you to die. my highest was a level 94 pindle runner assasin which died , and a level 99 barbarian with 8k health and 4k armor which would solo cowlevel easily.
