In the duped world of expansion it's not remotely difficult to stay alive for the purposes of PvM anymore. My hammerdin had something like 4k life, 74% block, 15k armor. Enigma, hoto, upped HoZ, 8 GCs with +40 life, with like lvl 50 holy shield...PvM is a joke with these duped runes. I really hate how boring it is now in D2 due to the rune dupes. The most fun nowadays is basically playing HCCL and dueling around lvl 70. Check channel "olo" on West for basically the only community around but they've almost all moved to East nowadays I think (it's been awhile since I last played).

Yeah, but normal mode is sooo boring, playing HC is the only way to throw a little excitement back into it. Even then, the game was still boring, but horribly addictive.

I once stood in a doorway and a few lightning champions chased my weak sorc friend.. I wouldnt let him pass and he died haha. But that stuff was even better in Dungeon Siege.. All those elevators and stuff.. Like always try to get the team8s down alone with one or back up so they would fall behind =)

Is there a guide somewhere with which skills I have to develope? Can the game be played on singleplayer? Any tips and advices will be highly apperciated ![]() Thanks in advance! I personally think the game is better as a singleplayer experience, and yeah it can be played that way. There are many guides to different D2 builds, diabloii.net is a great resource for that stuff. If you're going to play singleplayer I strongly suggest downloading ATMA-- a muling program-- you can find a link to it on diabloii.net. It's technically a character editor, but the vast majority of D2 players don't consider it a cheat because all it does is speed up the muling process. As for best hero? I dunno. One of the stronger non-twinked characters is the sorceress, which makes them good as a first character to magic find so you can twink future characters. I prefer Blizzard sorc, Meteorb, and CL/FO sorc builds, but you can be successful with a lot of stuff (maxed static field can be a fun experiment). Other strong non-twinked characters: Hammerdin; Lightning Trapsin; Fury Javazon; and Fishymancer. Fishymancer (also known as Skelliemancer) is practically unkillable, and is easily the safest build in the game... but it's a little slow. A properly equipped and skillfully used Hammerdin is the most powerful character in the game, but prone to stupid deaths and Blessed Hammer is kinda funky to use in tight spaces. Fury Javazons destroy rooms of monsters like nobody's business, but struggles a little vs bosses. Lightning Trapsin can have mana problems and the occasional lightning immune will slow you down. Every sorc build that isn't tri-elemental (most of them) will have some problems with immunes in hell difficulty. If you don't care about magic find for twinking purposes, just play whatever attracts you. My first character ever was a poorly constructed Fanazealot that liked to die during zeal-locks, and it was fun enough without any decent equipment or carefully planned stat/skill placement. You can find guides to all the builds I mentioned on diabloii.net. Have fun!

What skill trees, warcries ,combat masteries and skills I should develope. The same goes to for the other stuff : strength, dexterity etc... should I put points to? Also why when I save and quit I start again at the starting base? I know these questions sound like "How to build barracs" for SC, but I know that in games such like Diablo its very important to develope your hero properly ![]()

Blizzard sorc is a sorceress that specializes in the blizzard spell and its synergies. Meteorb is a sorceress that uses the spells Fireball, Meteor and Frozen Orb. CL/FO sorc is a sorceress that uses the spells Lightning, Chainlightning and Frozen Orb. Hammerdin is a Paladin that specializes in using Blessed Hammer and its synergies along with the Concentration aura to kill foes. Blessed Hammer is classified as "magic" damage (as opposed to elemental or physical or poison damage) and as a result, only monsters that are immune to magic damage can resist it. Blessed Hammer also ignores the immunities of any undead or demon class monster. As a result, there's only 1-2 very very rare types of monsters that can resist Blessed Hammer. IMBA ;p Lightning Trapsin is an assassin that specializes in Lightning Sentry, and Death Sentry to kill foes. Fury Javazon is an Amazon that specializes in the Javalin skill tree and uses the Lightning Fury skill as it's main attack. Fishymancer is a Necromancer that uses an army of skeleton minions (Raise Skeleton + Skeleton mastery) along with the 1 point wonder curse Amplify Damage and a Might aura merc to kill foes, it uses the skill Corpse Explosion to to speed up killing. Decrepify and Clay golem (both 1 point wonders) are used to battle bosses. Fanazealot is a Paladin that uses Zeal as it's main attack and combines that with the Fanatacism aura. It's a melee character that attacks very fast. Zeal-lock has been patched, but in the old days if you had many points in Zeal you could attack 20ish times in a row, and you'd continue to attack even if there were no monsters in range, leaving you exposed to ranged attackers that could kill you while you were locked in place. Some monsters, especially in Hell difficulty, are immune to certain attack types. There are physical immunes, and immunities to each of the element types. In Hell difficulty, it isn't uncommon to run accross foes with more than one immunity. Twinking is a term used to describe the act of transfering items earned by one character to a new character that can use the items to its advantage. A 1 point wonder is a skill that is very front loaded as far as it's usefulness goes. Generally, spending more points in these skills only affect the radius of the area of effect or the duration/life/or mana cost of the spell. Some examples of 1 point wonders are: static field, most of the necromancer golems, Corpse Explosion, Shadow Warrior, Shadow Master, Teleport, Double Swing, Fade, Mind Blast, and most of the necromancer curses. The reason you start in the starting base after you save and quit is because that's how the game works. Don't fret over it, killing monsters again is a good thing (more chances to get good items). Barbarians are a pretty item-dependant class, which is why I didn't mention any barb builds when I was talking about non-twinked characters. I think Frenzy Barbs are pretty fun so I'll share that build with you. Follow this link. General stat placement rules for D2: Strength: enough to wear your gear. Dexterity: enough to wear your gear unless you use a shield, then enough to get 75% blocking (how much you'll need for this depends on your level and your shield). Vitality: Everything else. Energy: Base. Don't ever spend anything here.
