There is something strange with how the game measures distance. Because the distance I have measured with Google Fitness is 9km today but PoGo has only measured 6 km.

it's long been known that the distance tracker for PoGo sucks. the latest update is supposed to have improved it a lot, but depending on factors like how many turns u take, gps coverage etc... u can lose up to 50% of ur distance travelled

http://pokemongohub.net/distance-tracking-improved-lot/

I've heard device GPS may play a role. With my iPhone 6S I get almost perfect tracking. Each morning/evening I walk or cycle 600 meters to work (not a straight line), and my app will count the full 600 meters if I go by foot, 400-500 when I cycle.

The client pushes your location to the cloud every minute, then every ~4 minutes the servers calculate the distance between these points (in a straight line) and updates your app accordingly. Clearly some meters will be lost if you're not walking in a straight line, but updates every minute ensure this should not be a big loss.

Not sure why Google Fitness tracks 3 km more, obvs it uses the same GPS. Were you running in small circles?

Edit: Speed limit is roughly 10,5 km/h as well, so if you were jogging it won't have counted everything.

No I was walking from one point to another. And by looking at my route in Google Maps, I'd say that the fitness app is pretty accurate

Ah weird.

I assume PoGo was active the whole time. Check the top left of your screen periodically. If the GPS icon is spinning it won't track your kms.

The Egg distance tracking is a bitch, I wish there was like a automatic Egg switcher for the infinite incubator.

For example I went running the other night, had 4.7/5km on tracker when I left home so decided to walk 300 meters, hatch then put new egg to incubator and pocket my phone.

Sounds good right, nope got stuck on 4.9km for several hundred meters.

The 15%-20% improvement over 18k seems entirely explainable by the problem where you have an egg at like 4.7km, but have to wait for the next batch update to hatch it. So the egg goes from 4.7km to say 5.4km and you lose that .4km. With the buddy system it just keeps going so you don't 'lose' that extra distance. You'll go from like .7km to .4km + candy in one distance update.

This gives the appearance of the tracker being more accurate, people are measuring tracking accuracy with a different metric now.

got an 82% oddish with high cp. good enough. vileplume has been doing some work for me lately against low level gyarados and vaporeons (prestiging up my team's gyms). dont know if i want to level it up though. i have two high cp vapes (WG/AT) that do all of the work for me when taking down gyms.

Good old pokedex scaling bug.

I'm in the same situation with Nidoran(F). Over 200 candies but since I haven't been able to hatch one I got nothing to use them on.

Do you guys think that for high base stats Pokemon like Snorlax, IV doesn't really matter? Imo movesets are much more important. Obviously it would be good to have the best of both, but some Pokemon are really hard to come by.

I had to quit because I ran out of pokeballs... bought more... then ran out again, and I refuse to spend anymore.

Just not enough pokestops where I live.

Do you live near a city or have one that is viable(cheaper) to drive to for a weekend and spin spin spin?

move set has always been more important than IVs.

Exact same boat. Did find a 90% Nidoran F but at 50 something CP I couldn't justify the candies and dust. All my higher levels have been sub 70%. sitting on 265 candy right now

My 14/14/13 Vileplume has been destroying water pokemon. I am so happy with that pokemon!

Vileplume's toxic pollen triggers atrocious allergy attacks. That's why it is advisable never to approach any attractive flowers in a jungle, however pretty they may be.

I named it LizzysFlower. Anyone get the reference?

It matters. My Blastoise has shitty IVs, I thought it wouldn't be an issue, turns out he'll have ~200 CP less than a maxed one at max level =/

My Dragonite is 100% IV, at max lvl he'll have 3500 CP, what a beast. A 0% IV Dragonite would probably strand at 3200-3300 CP.

Moveset depends on Pokemon I guess. For Dragonite the worst set you can have is Steel Wing / Hyper Beam, that's meant to be a defensive Dragonite but it's 10% worse than Steel Wing / Dragon Pulse. No big deal. So here I would say IVs are more important.

200CP more doesn't say much about real battle efficiency tho, their formulas are using a lot of round-ups.

Niantics server security got cracked.

Its going to be a constant revolving door between niantic changing things and hackers getting around/through it to make scanners.

Edit: Scanned my little area and counted the weedles within about 450M of my place. 16 Weedles. Even 2 Kakunas. I live in Viridian forest
