It would actually be okay if they blocked pokevision, but they can't even get their shit together and fix their own ingame radar. Which by the way was shown to be fixed fairly easy by a reddit community member.

If Niantic wants to KO Pokevision and similar sites, it should fix that locator.
I just dled the latest update....fuck that was not smart.
This company is run by idiots....Nintendo please step in and help them....

Situations like this really make me appreciate Blizzard and their community feedback a lot more.

they have no community presence, their first patch note said "minor text updates". highly likely they helped the server issue by disabling the radar. now they killed the radar completely. wtf?
the CEO comes out and says he doesn't like pokeradars...then goes to disable the in-game function.
oh, and apparently they reduced the scan radius as well as bonus for nice/great throws

making the game a bit harder is not that bad. i also dislike pokeradars. just their communication is so terrible so instead of a few annoying naggers they get a fullblown shitstorm.

the whole point of the game is to go out and catch a pokemon, now anything on the radar could be within a massive radius now.... with absolutely no point of reference....

This pretty much sums it up

Bit harder? Lets see if you can go to your nearby store if i blindfold you.

Wow, 23 km walked in total today for me. And people say gaming isn't healthy
|
On top of all of this cheaters only get softbanned and have a massive advantage over everyone else.
If you're playing for arenas and not faking your GPS, you're an idiot at this point. And catching pokemon doesn't really offer enough to justify going out.

On the other hand if you are using this for fitness, setting jour goal as capturing arenas without cheating works wonders :o.

Not really, since the most effective way to catch pokemon is going to pokestops, not actually moving.

Oh you were talking about Arenas. Yeah that might be true. But to me thats just frustrating.

lots of negative feedback from this last patch, will be interesting to see how the game will handle its first bout of adversity. Even some small changes are horrible, not a big fan of how to transfer pokemon now, you can't quick throw anymore. They added a text line telling you your pokemon broke free when it gets out of an egg, like was that really needed? I think it was pretty apparent pre-patch lol. Something else that hasn't worked for a while is the map that shows you where you caught that specific pokemon. When I first started playing it would have a gps screenshot of where in the world you caught that pokemon, now its just a white square...
I think the backlash from this last patch should get them moving, let's hope our cries are answered

It's gonna be too late. They poisoned a lot of the player base with the shitty servers, 3 foot bug, and taking down sites like
People have had these complaints for weeks already and nothing has been done

I like to take longer walks anyway, the game (more specifically hatching incubated eggs) gives me more motivation to do it.

Yeah, me and most of the people at my work place have just about quit already. It was fun while it lasted, but bugs, server issues, lack of things to do in the game, steps not counting when the game isnt up, and now just taking out the radar completely instead of trying to fix it has turned me off from pokemon go. Not sure if I'll continue anymore. They had a huge player base to start with but I think Niantic really dropped the ball here. I wouldnt be surprised if the game just about died out in 2 months.

I recommend playing Ingress in the mean time . PS. Ask me for an invite so I can get my recruiter medal

Looks like people are filing mass claims against Niantic via the Better Business Bureau.
Also, some folks claiming that they've been able to get refunds from iTunes.
This update has certainly pissed a lot of the playerbase off. Don't blame 'em. I'd probably stop playing if wasn't such a great game to bond with family over.
