it was a solo, someone else actually started a vote after I posted this and he got kicked on the 19th round
we won 5 rounds in a row after that, still lost the game but holy shit it made me so mad

Well today was interesting. Games full of derankers/smurfs that completely shit on my team and a game where I go 33-6. Still in silver where it deranked me from Nova 4. What the literal fuck Valve? I have to say though managing to fuck up the ranks so badly is pretty impressive.

Yep, the dumbass rank fuckup made the smurfing problem huge. I mean it essentially created a bunch of 'smurfs' (who aren't really smurfs just got deranked ~7 times at once), must REALLY suck for legit silver and gold nova players. Glad to see I'm not the only person that sees a problem with the 're-adjustment' :p
Of course now Gold Nova will be better than before but come on. I'm now one single rank away from silver and was (and still am, relative to the old system) DMG lol. I'd prolly get some flag for being a smurf until I rank up again as well.

Most people that talk about a rank fuckup seems mostly to be salty about a system that got (rightly) adjusted, but they don't like it.
Improve and get your old rank. You'll be many times better once you reclaim it. Also, well, "ranks"...

Rag, no offense, but what you're saying is pretty much what everybody says that didn't get fucked. You're happy you're still around the same level so everybody else just needs to buckle up, right?
Just saying, it's easy to be all cool about something when you're on the 'winning' end of things.
Ranks aren't important but they ARE in the sense that I won't be able to queue with teammates forever now. And ranking up seven freaking times simply can't be done in a couple of days or even weeks, no matter the skill. It takes forever - especially when forced to solo-queue because I don't have teammates that I want to play with in Silver/Gold Nova.
Actually just today I talked to a friend of mine over on the subreddit. He had a 2nd account in DMG just like me and also lost his rank with an even longer time of inactivity. He stayed DMG. I went down to GN1. What the hell? Explain that. Just seems random to me.

I had the weirdest glitch in a competetive game yesterday. I had no HUD (ammo, health etc), kills didn't show on the upper right side of the screen. HEs had no animation. The chat didn't work. The map environment didn't reset so scorch marks and blood spatter stayed. There were no server sounds like 'the bomb has been planted etc.' and there was no kill cam. And one could always hear a molotov burning. Super weird and super distracting. At least we won pretty quickly.

Did you try resetting your UI? (generally easiest way to do it is to change resolution)

Been getting bad server loss spikes today and yesterday. Dunno what is going on with these servers but it's really annoying, already caused a couple deaths -_-

So let me tell you about my new 'life' in Gold Nova 1. I played 6-7 games of MM soloQ last night to try and rank back up again. It went reasonably well. Of course there's zero communication but I've won all games except one where I 40 bombed on overpass and we still lost 16-14 (teammates played like silver 1 or were trolling) and one game where a premade 4 squad kicked me after 3 rounds (with me topfragging easily) for no reason (no communication between us at all or anything). They were the annoying kind with music blasting during the game etc. Won the last game of the night 16-2 on mirage with only a single death for me on the scoreboard lol (20-1 I believe at the end).
I mean, this is kinda pointless but also kinda fun. I'm wrecking people, they get angry (I got multiple hackusations) and ultimately treat me like a hacker or a smurf. And I DO smurf, except it's not on purpose... Still I'm ruining people's experience clearly. :[ Thanks Valve! 
I expected if it deranks me from DMG to GN1 then at least I should be on a bit of an MMR bonus so I rank up quick but after my games, I haven't even gotten GN2 yet. It'll be a long way. And it won't always be as easy as it is now.

The fast way to rank up again is to duo queue with someone of your level imo.
I was supreme before the rank shift, got demoted to LEM but quickly got my supreme back and now I am global again (even topfragged against globals in my promotion game, so I feel I kinda belong there). But duo-queuing makes it a ton easier to deal with all the teammates bullshit and other shit that happens on MM.

I'm in a similar both as Roggay, went down from LE to DMG after the patch and now I'm back at LE. Though I don't duo-queue I go with a full stack of friends whenever possible. Much more fun that way, even if we sometimes queue up with one or two people that are just MG/MG2 but hey, I guess you only need to get more frags.

You both got downranked a single rank. That's barely worth mentioning. I got downranked seven ranks at once. I'm not sure if you were trying to respond to what I wrote or not though? :p Either way, I can't duo-queue because all my guys are obviously still at ~seven ranks above me and the game doesn't allow the queue with that kind of rank difference. And I'm not interested in playing with legit Silver/GN1 players, sorry. But that's not necessary either as I'm obviously doing absolutely fine without someone to queue with (minus the trolled/kicked game).

NihiL, I've lost ranks as well. As many others, this feel quite a bit sad, because the apparence is you're going backwards. The problem is, people who don't play much during that period, or mostly on smurfs, or anything, won't get the deranks directly. Others that farmed the game and improved since the update may have gotten close or even at their previous ranks, which made it very unreliable as a measure until it stabilise. And it will do so only if people play and after inactive people effectively got their rank removed / reattributed.
As to the "randomness", it reaaaally depends on which end of the spectrum for a rank you were before the patch. When I see the following, I consider the system to be working.

You have to consider that not every rank before the patch were equal. And some ranks might've meant more deranks than others (because the target proportion of players in a rank isn't the same for all ranks).
I consider individual stories like that not to be that important, this will be ironed out in the end.
I don't feel soloQ has been worse after that than before, I've always found it terrible and completely random anyway.
If you want to wreck ranks, just go faceit MM (it's easier not to care), and come back to hyper carry your teams in soloQ Valve MM

Yeah plenty of Supremes and LEM's dropped to DMG-MG2 aswell.
I myself was at LEM, went down to LE, been playing less than usual (like a game a week) won a couple including a 16-0 stomp in a DMG/LE mix , lost 1 and went down to DMG.
Honestly doesnt really matter to me, thats just where in the spread my MMR is. And the quality of the games, on average seems to be the same. Mind you I pretty much only solo Q so I get to experience every kind of cancer people whine about here. Fortunately I just look at it as a way to improve my game in situations where I am disadvantaged and play around that. Its not just about winning and losing. Its just MM after all.
