Yeah. It's usually impossible to criticize people in MM. The more effective way to get them to play better is to say something like "My bad, I didn't rotate fast enough." It's fairly crushing to my ego, but it works.

Whoa, the double rankdown did not help on my mood for this game. Have had a fairly positive winratio for a while now, figuring I'd rank up to LEM soon. 5 games later I'm MGE  Doesn't help that the amount of hackers you face online these days is rather ridiculous. Oh yeah? You're bottomfragging for 15 rounds in a row, and then suddenly you're hitting every single awp shot to the head the remaining rounds after, know exactly where everyone is, and prefire all the corners? I don't think so.

I just tilted so hard it's incredible. I'm deeply emotionally hurt but getting rekt so hard. Earlier today people were calling me a hacker. Now against the same ranks I'm completely powerless, getting running headshotted every corner, never having an opportunity to do anything. I'm a broken man.

To be fair people got super salty when the rank change happened so I would expect a fair bit of toggling. It is NA after all.
I never really say anything because I prefer to offer the benefit of the doubt and just accept Im not that good. But I can see if you take the game seriously that it can be quite frustrating. I used to be like that in 1.6 when i played competitively but 10 years on I'd rather take it slow. It is hard to resist the competitive urge to just sit all day and grind ranks though. As for getting wrecked, I just use it as an oppurtunity to keep learning. You can only get better if you get your ass handed to you a few times, you probably know that.

People aren't the same on both sides remember that. Some halfs I play like dogshit while the other one I play really well. It is
all too situational to judge someone based on one half. I remember playing a half where I literally had 0 kills but managed to come back the next half and break even. But ofc u could of just hit a hacker just something to think about.

Also, I'm quite happy as of today, as I lost a single rank. Then, my recent games yield a high winratio, must compensate. But I'm afraid to play now, wouldn't really want to lose another rank even with more wins :<

Oh yeah, that happens a lot to me too. That doesn't mean I'll suddenly start prefiring every corner with an awp after switching teams
on a sidenote of the rank rant. Just checked: I won 8 of my last 10 games, and deranked twice.. I know they're fixing the ladder and shit, but comon! I lost two while probably on the verge of ranking up before the change. That's practically 3 ranks -.- Most people only lost one. I don't get how that's suppose to work if the MMR is the same. A friend of mine who was two ranks below me before the change, and played most of those matches with me, is now the same rank as me.

I decided to abandon game and take a 7 day ban. It's not fun having a W/L ratio of 16-5 and not even rank up to where I used to be. I'd rather play something that atleast rewards good skills. Fuck the new system.

Do you know what a change in the rank system means ? That the ranks don't mean the same thing as before, and in this case notably, every rank above GN4 mean more skill than before. So technically, unless you were below, nothing has changed with how skilled you are.
And rewarding good skills is actually what Valve is doing with this update, by making the higher rank less accessible and more meaningful than before.

HOLY SHIT, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GRIND TO LEVEL 3!?!? I wanted to hop on and play some competitive 5v5 matches, and I'm stuck playing these shitty ass casual games which are a clusterfuck of 10v10, which half the time are filled with what looks like wall hackers, aim botters, etc. The grind to level 3 is almost as bad as the grind to level 30 in League of legends, like fucking hell.
Are there a lot of hackers in competitive 5v5 as well? Its really depressing having to leave games constantly because vote kicks fail in the game for blatant hackers. I had someone guide their crosshair from wall to wall, perfectly aligned with my head, until I peaked.

There are some, although most of the time a hacker can be mistaken for a too high pride.
And the lvl 3 thingy is mostly there to make smurfing quite hard. It's good and bad at the same time, depending on which side of that lvl 3 barrier you are.

I needed arround 6-7h over 2 days with 7 days inbetween. Played only DM. Just only P90 and run&gun. So I would recomment to not play the 10v10 clusterfuck or any other mode the DM, as this should be the easiest way. But yeah, you need 2 weeks, as the bonus points for each week are needed to be used.
For MM:
Most hackers are either smurfs or just players who have a good day. Everybody has this games onces in a while, where everything works as intendet and even better. Your enemys or your team could have this 2. In DM or 10v10 especially, there arent much hackers, but a extremly wide gap of skills, as everybody has to play it for the ranking.
And the hackers you find, you just have to live with em. They wont go away.

As long as you talking about a ct hitting those shots, there are 2 very easy wallbangspots as long as the T chooses a standard position(like far left/right).
EDIT: just read higher ranks... if you talking LEM-Global then sure. I feel like the tightend up ranks either reduced the amount of legit players in high ranks or people who are afraid of losing their high rank are starting hacking/starting to hack more obvious/desperate

He was a T, and the same dude bragging about having 10+ alts that were vac banned. He also had a 45 day old vac on his current account for another game.

The Ranks have been adjusted. You now need a higher Elo/MMR for each rank. For example (not correct numbers):
Old DMG had a MMR range from 2000-2200. And your MMR was 2050, thus you have been DMG.
Now they changed the MMR range for each rank, MG1 has now a rank from 1800-2100. MG2 from 2100-2400. MGE from 2500-2800. And DMG from 2800-3100.
So you with every loss, you lost (not correct number), 10 MMR points.
After you first loss, you have been at 2040 MMR, thus deranked, as your MMR is not anymore in DMG range.
With every loss, that continued. After 3 losses, you have been at a MMR of 2020 and thus in the range of MG1 and stopped deranking.
Thats your new correct rank. Even if you had won 5 games in a row (and every win would give 10 MMR point), and then you lost 3 games, you would have dranked: After 5 games, your MMR would have been at 2100 and so you would have deranked with 3 loses to a MMR of 2070 and so 3 ranks back to MG1.
As the MMR range of each rank is also now larger then before, once you are in your new correct rank, you will need more time for the next derank/rank up. For example, I was LE before the adjustment and now I am MGE. As MGE in 12 games, I have now 10 wins, one 15:15 and one loss. Still no rank up. (Played some games with friends who have lower ranks, so these games also gave less MMR per win).
I like the new ranks. There has been a inflation of the ranks, you ranked up even you didnt became better because more and more players ranked up from the bottom and boosted your MMR. There was a rank inflation and that is now gone. LE was a joke when I was LE, now I hope it could be actually something what is worth playing for.
