Since Team Liquid now has its own League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global Offensive team, will these two games be added to the liquipedia? I do not really know the circumstances under which a game gets added, but i suppose its the ones where TL has a team. I would be very pleased if i would see it there, because the leaguepedia takes pretty much time to update and i don't know a page like Liquipedia for CS:GO.

There is a fair number of CSGO wikis already:

http://www.clanwiki.nu/wiki/Main_Page
http://kniferound.net/wiki/Main_Page

Don't think we need more unless it's the best. If TL could strike a deal with eg clanwiki to import all that data, it would be faboulous as the LP sites >> the other wikis generally

Definitely considering it. Wiki's are not an easy decision as we really need a lot of community support to make it happen.

There is some overlap between kniferound and LP, this is right. However, since we always want to make the best wikis, we need a lot of people to make it happen, and thus starting a wiki is always a hard decission.

I've visited kniferound, and there is a severe lack of content (and it is still an understatement) and afaik it is rarely ever used.
These kind of things require a ton of people and dedication. Would be really cool, but it won't be easy.

The thing is: Give us a reason to believe more people would edit a Liquipedia wiki than the kniferound wiki.

I think a Global Offensive wiki would be a very smart decision, since there isn't, a very popular wiki for it, quite yet (though I am aware of the attempts). It was certainly pretty cool to see how excited r/GlobalOffensive got about the idea. For similar reasons I also think that a full community page makes a lot of sense. Although HLTV.org is very popular, there definitely is a lot of room for a site targeted at a more civilized conversation. But that's a bit off topic...

As for LoL, I think it would be much harder to create a wiki with similar impact in the LoL community as other Liquipedia wikies have in their respective communities. Who knows, though, perhaps it would still be worth a shot.

Oh yea I completely agree.
Even keeping tournaments informations to the standard set by hltv would be a very hard thing to do (upcoming matches hour by hour).

The reason to believe is... this is TeamLiquid! The most dedicated community in gaming!

Would it just be strictly CS:GO or would it incorporate the other games like 1.6 and Source?

nothing is set at this point, we are open to talk about a possible new wiki, but nothing is fixed at the moment

A wiki needs contributors though, without the people who actually put in time and effort the content doesn't reach the level where it can take off and become sustainable because the content is so good it drives it's own traffic. Hence it's good that there's a lot of people who'd love a wiki to read, but we need to know that there's a significant number of people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and help out make it.

Well, name value is one. Everyone in esports knows liquipedia, not many know kniferound outside of CS:GO

I would bring up eSportspedia for Call of Duty as a good example of what happens when people don't contribute to a wiki. You end up with half-assed coverage of the scene that only focuses on one region, with little regard for smaller events. There are certainly other factors in play like their dependence on Twitter for news and their poor journalism over the last decade, but strictly speaking about wikis, they all need a sufficient number of volunteers to function properly.

Their's so much people on CS:GO reddit, I'm sure a lot of people would be interrested to participate to build a CS:GO liquipedia
