"R.I.P. Overwatch" "Keep that shit Blizz!" "Overwatch killed itself!" "How can you be so $"(§") Blizz. !/&(/" you!!!!" It's kinda scary how many people just blindly take some random internet "leak" for the truth.

There was a competitive scene with ET however it was before the days of twitch / youtube etc so there wasn't this obsession with esports that we have today. So for the people that are already getting bored of Overwatch after 2 days of playing or thinking that the game will get old quickly, this genre is just not for you.

Actually I would bet more than half of the people posting in this thread will buy the "Origins Edition" to get instant beta access even if the game is f2p later on.

I absolutely intend to buy the Origins Edition once the game has been confirmed F2P. The reason is exactly as you said: If Overwatch has a steep price tag, the player base will be decimated, and its potential as an esport will be significantly diminished. The game would never live up to its promise and potential. What I want to sign on for in Overwatch is a competitive class based shooter with a vibrant esports scene. A high price tag is predisposed to weaken that. As for the people in this thread who, when confronted with those of us who yearn for an esports scene, decide to denigrate us by calling us entitled: Where do you think we are?

Well, they would have to give out some Beta where you can Play on 1-2 maps or something but else, i don't see the paywall being a Problem. At least for Europe/NA (and afaik there isn't a worldwide shooter anyway?).

It from the same studio (Splash Damage) and F2P on steam. Pretty much ET in a different setting What is the payment model like in Dirty Bomb? So hard to tell with f2p if they are p2w like LoL and HotS or f2p like Dota.

I do care about the B2P price that Blizzard ends up choosing with current Overwatch beta content, Blizzard will make a quick buck with OW @ $60, but the population will wane over time and likely have a small active population by 1 year after release @ a $15 - $25 price tag, the game becomes accessible to a larger population if Blizzard ends up releasing P2W cash shop purchases with a B2P game though, then screw them

Is it better than Overwatch? I dont know but as i said, if you didnt get a key its the perfect alternative. EDIT: Yeah if Overwatch costs around 40€ i dont mind buying it, same with the Dirty Bomb game. Going to the movies costs me around 12-15 € wihtout popcorn etc. compare that to 30€ and 30+ hours of gaming and its easily worth it. And the most important thing i like to support capitalism, IT NEEDS MY EURO DOLLARS!

And everyone who is to cheap to buy it or lacks the money or is intitially not interested in the game will wait until it is f2p. Then they will later on buy skins and stuff and blizz will get money from those people as well. So by doing it this way blizz should be able to maximize revenue.

If I get beta invite and a few skins extra for that 20-40, I'm all down for it.
