If you distrust main stream review sites, you should also distrust user reviews. Never trust any review system that does not require the person to confirm they have purchased the product and have a system to limit them to one review. Review bombing has always been a thing on the internet and will never change. | ||

In most cases I think I have to experience it for myself, if those prolems re-appear on my machine or not. Releasing games full of bugs unfortunately is a common practice now... =/ (see AC: Unity, Battlefield 4) I hope they produced a game close to Origins with the good changes in DA2. As soon as the game is released here in GER, I will surely write down my impressions. | ||

Review bombing is a problem for publishers which have a "bad" reputation. As much as i personally trusted Bioware in the good old days (basically until they released Kotor 2) you need only read 3-4 reviews on metacritic to figure out that the people writing them, went looking for a reason to hate this game. The first 3 user reviews spent more time bashing DA 2 (deservedly) and saying that this franchise is dead to them since then, then talking about DA:I. Me3 and DA2 basically made certain that some parts of the internet will hate on everything Bioware does from now on. I'll write a proper review of my own impressions once I've had the game for a few days, but so far nothing I have read anywhere makes the metacritic score seem fair. | ||

From the live streams of the game last night, the combat looked fun and exciting. And if the game is as large as they say, I can deal with a few bugs, since I totally dealt with them in Skyrim. | ||

That is because the game also runs bad on good PCs and people say K&M controls are not good enough. The game was made for consoles first and PC second, of course PC users are going to be pissed off. BTW, Obsidian made Kotor 2 and were forced to do so 2-3 months before it was ready because they were given green light to add more stuff into it and then 1 month later cut off suddenly and told to release ASAP. | ||

And as for bugs, there will probably be some if not many, but I hope the game will get patched quickly then. Also I'll definitely avoid watching DA:I on Twitch.tv. | ||

From what I've seen potions are limited to 8 and shared across all 4 chars and you ca nreplenish them by finding crates. | ||

I am also not one of these DAO super fans that loves the game despite its flaws, like potion spam, OP magic and sort of useless archer characters(to say that they would just be better stabbing people who are frozen in the back). I love the story, but even it is typical fantasy far, with a totally lack luster villain. I get the love for the game, but that combat was only fun to break once and after that is just sort of dull in my opinion. And as always, I am not impressed by user reviews. I don’t trust them on Yelp or any other service, and I won’t trust them on metacritic. I saw one where a guy was bitching about the down load speed for his preload, as if that was a factor in the game. I can’t even start to unpack that, but maybe they bought the German language version? DAI looks dope and I will let people know how it is. According to TB, if you set it on ultra, you need a top notch rig to pull it off. I'll likely keep the settings at a reasonable level and maybe drop the resolution, since I will be playing it on my TV. | ||

I would recommend Giant Bomb and Joystiq, both who are very good about disclosing how they interact with publishers. Also, a free copy of a game isn't going to sway their opinion, as Giant Bomb has said over and over, they get way to much dump stuff from publishers and have become totally numb to it. Personally, I read all review, rather than assume that everyone is on the take and out to deceive to me. | ||
