Really hope we get detailed info about classes at Blizzcon, with all the reworks to some classes I hope they'll communicate this time and don't just turn them into arms and say this is how we vision warriors.

Just got boring, somehow. In the beginning, i thought the Garrison was a really good idea - in retrospective, it might've been the worst idea since the farm. I miss the times where Orgrimmar was laggy because of all the people idling there (well, and the fact that my PC was kinda crap), started a new toon a week ago on frostwolf - orgrimmar is simply empty. Everything is, really. Sad. ![]()

http://i.imgur.com/SrMawB8.png The graph if anyone is interested What a lot of people missed is that you aren't going to see constant big losses, there are going to be people that play no matter what, people that are still playing because they enjoy the game, people that are still playing to farm gold or other stuff for legion, people that can just afford to stay subbed because of wow token, etc. MMOC only seems more hateful because their site culture is different, I think. Although there's certainly a good number of people who just want the game to die

I wasn't really bored or tired with WoW after Wotlk, was looking forward to Cataclysm but it was just a bad expansion tbh. Didn't play MoP since i heard so much crap about it, came back for WoD for like two - three months and then got absolutely fed up with how bad the game was. I'd play Nostalrius if i had the time, i miss when WoW "was hard" in the sense that you had to work for things. Everyone and their mom didn't have all epics etc etc. Levelled to like 20ish on Nostarlius and it felt about 20x as rewarding as leveling did on live.

When the stuff that isn't raiding/pvp/etc. is so easy to blow through it's not a big surprise that lots of people vanish once that stuff is done.

They apparently get that people like leveling and questing but their solution seems to be more frequent expansions with less patch content, which is shitty as a consumer. Even moreso because even WoD leveling was much worse than previous expansions.

There aren't fewer quests than previous expansions, but they've been heavily streamlined. Each individual quest takes less time and effort to complete, and at the same time is almost always paired up with 1-2 other quests. So you're completing shorter quests with 2-3x the efficiency of previous expansions. The net result is, unsurprisingly, that you run out of quests to do far faster.

In comparison Everquest 5 years older with a subscription high of 430k is still running and getting expansions, the last number i could find that they had 80k subscribers a couple of years ago. This february Sony sold Everquest but still even with that low numbers it was/is still profitable to develop small updates and maintain servers for it Blizzard can just keep WoW running for another 20 years with a skeleton crew and would keep making profit just from similiar die hard fans, which would in proportion prolly still be ~1 million.

I've been playing it casually with a friend lately. Just an hour on couple of nights per week and sundays and it's a lot of fun.

I guess the outpost is supposed to make up for this but this means they basically squish 2 zones into one which means everything has to be super short and you get showered with exp. It's just... so trivial, nothing is a threat to you unless you pull like half a dozen mobs. Maybe MoP was different, but Cataclysm was basically this x10 minus any of the good aspects of WoD. Minus rest/heirlooms, we haven't really had level-appropriate threats or multiple quest-based leveling paths since WotLK.

WoD is less forgivable because it's 10 levels (while Cata/MoP were both 5), and they could have easily made each zone 3 levels (90-93, 92-95, etc.) and it would've felt a lot better. My main issue with vanilla questing is at some points (mostly at high levels) you had the opposite problem of later expansions in that you just run out of quests and have to run around the world finding stuff or just grind. Running around the world exploring can be fun the first time, but on later runthroughs it's more annoying running across the world for quest chains. edit: Unrelated, but if you don't believe MMOC isn't the only negative place about WoW, go look at the reddit thread about Blizz no longer disclosing sub numbers. Hundreds of upvotes to posts from people who don't understand that subs don't correlate to how much money blizzard makes from the game, and that these numbers are disclosed at shareholders meetings, aka people who only care about the money

Whenever sub nubmers come out, it's like the sky is falling and people lose more and more faith and then they quit just because they hear how its a sinking ship. Also none of their compeittion releases sub numbers. So it makes sense not to. But yeah, Sol raises a point I always bring up. Five million is still probably 10x more than the most successful subscription based MMO out right now. FFXI and Everquest went on for ten years PEAKKKING at 500k. I really enjoyed WoD levelling. It told some really great stories, although there were times where the story dropped the ball, but thats on the story telling and not really the levelling process. I guess it's a thing where it's like, you have to decide to make a bunch of disconnected small questing areas that makes for replayability but doesn't seem as climatic. Or the linear big production questslines thats awesome your first time, but really boring for multiple playthroughs. I do wish they went back to the Wrath/Cata way of having 2 starting zones that each faction shares. I feel that eases on the server load.
