HC Hodir or Freya? prolly not that hard.

Mimiron was the most fun encounter I have probably ever done btw, he had amazing lines too which I suppose is a large part of it. Incredibly hard and incredibly well designed.

WoW is so pisspoor in comparison to its older self

EDIT: This is quite ironic compared to the above posts lol.

Karazhan is quite glorious, and it's giganctic indeed. You rarely cleaned it in one night.
But it gave it a sense of grandiose.

It does indeed. Alot of the older raids give off a sense of grandiose. Once you hit cata things just seem to turn into a series of boss rooms with corridors connecting them, no atmosphere in them at all Probably one of my biggest gripes with modern WoW, its just been made too mechanical. Raids are designed to be "endgame content" instead of an epic experience. Everything just has no soul

And its still the best MMO on offer :D

Siege of Orgrimmar is kinda like that, but people got angry it was so big..

Also, Firelands is probably one of my favorite raid as far as look goes. That place is fabulous, even if probably way too small.

My favorite raids of all time were probably:

1) Karazhan
2) Ulduar
3) Naxxramas
4) Serpentshrine Caverns
5) Gruul's Lair
6) Blackwing Descent
7) Ruins of Ahn'Quiraj
8) Siege of Orgrimmar
9) Highmaul
10) Firelands

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes SoO more than Highmaul. HM mechanics feel really repetitive to me, and I'm getting sick of fighting ogre mages.

I may be a masochist, but I liked vanilla naxxramas a lot. Man, I must have wiped 50+ times per night there. We basically rotated between Naxx and selling MC/BWL boosts so we could afford pots and repairs.

For design, I don't think anything beats Kara. Really sad they don't make places like that anymore, or dungeons like BRD.

What we need is more insta-kill snail trash just to wreck LFR's shit

LFR barely exists anymore. I pugged 6/7 heroic this week which goes to show just how much of a joke highmaul is.

LFR = 25 dps seeing the sites
Normal = new LFR
Heroic = reason to use looking for premade feature
Mythic = old heroic

Course you can pug heroic highmaul now, most heroic groups are like 655-660. If we had the exact same LFG system for TBC/Wotlk im certain you could find groups that could do some ulduar/icc heroics as well. LFG system pugging can't really be compared to what you had to do in say TBC where it was server only. Even early raids like Gruul's lair were annoying as hell to pug on a server but with a LFG system it would be much easier since you can have a massive amount of potential players.

I'd like to watch an ulduar pug do heroic Mimiron or Yogg.

I guess that's only equivalent if people are pugging 7/7 though cause those were the hardest bosses.

Old heroic is mythic now and old normal is called heroic now. Of course "heroic" is super fucking easy because of that. I pugged Yogg nhc when it was relevant. Yogg 1watcher pug would be just as impossible as mythic imperator pug, unless you actually draw 20 random people who play way above average (you should play lottery if you manage that).

As for favorite raids, it is without a question Ulduar for me :D That raid had so much style, not just visually but the introduction of hardmodes and the 1 hour per lockout boss Algalon, where you couldn't just throw your real life at it to make world #1.

Hm if i had to make a list it'd be more or less:

1) Ulduar
2) TK/Serpentshrine
3) Kara
4) Black Temple
5) ICC
6) Gruul's Lair, but mostly because it was my first 25 man raid and i had to tank Maulgar on that

I didn't raid in Vanilla or Cata though. WotlK Naxx was really grand but it was also way way undertuned.

In my opinion, if you haven't totally destroyed mythic yet, you can't really complain about difficulty. Guys that haven't even cleared normal crying about LFR being too easy in trade chat make me want to kill puppies.
As for my favorite raid, I'd say either ICC (playing fury with shadowmourne and pre HC LK full BiS probably helped), or the first Cataclysm tier, which was awesome in my opinion. We had a blast on Sinestra (minus the hair I lost because of the debuff dispell), and the raids visuals were pretty well designed, unique and pleasing.

Dot weaving with cop is actually really fun... unless you have to attack more than one mob... or get the boss into execute range... or you press the wrong button at the wrong time...or if you have too much haste... or you have to move in any way shape or form.

Yes Kara with out a doubt is the best raid nothing has really come close. Run away little girl, Run away.
Highmaul was great the first couple times I did it but I am really starting to hate the 10-12 minute Margok fight.

Brd was top big. You'd have to spend a whole afternoon tot finish it and most of the time people just legt the group.

Old BRS was pretty good as a dungeon length. Not too short like all the cata / mop / wod dungeons but not too long like BRD / sunken temple.

I honestly feel like I completed more BRD runs than I ever did trying to do heroic shadow labs / shattered halls / arcatraz (Although that might just be Kara attunement haunting me)

But who actually cleared all of BRD in one run? It was just one mega dungeon and without the LFG-finder it wasn't necessary to beat the "endboss" to "finish" it. You had to leave the zone like 5 times and come back again to finish the onyxia quest... The same for strat, you either went baron or bastion. I really liked BRD, you would always find something new because it was just so huge and had so many shortcuts. For example you could jump down into the lava after the fire elemental boss and skip right to the room with the 7 guys or get to the MC entrance.
That said, if they made something like it today they would split them up and make walls, so effectively it would still be seperate dungeons. Like Dire Maul. Dire Maul could have been the same as BRD, having them all connected but for some reason they didn't.
