You share /2 and /1 so people from every batch of connected realms will see it, including people from your own realm

Because you get gear from it?

Is that what this game has devolved to? Nothing but gear matters? The one piece of challenging content Blizzard puts in the game and people only want to do it for gear to make the easier content even easier?

It's not to make the easy content even easier, it's to gear up for raids as well as you can.
Going with that logic people shouldnt even farm pre raid gear because otherwise pre-mythic tiers of raiding become even easier

You asked a question and we gave an answer?
like, there are other reasons why people want to run it, its not just speedrunning for WoW lol. Should we dump all our gear and do Mythic raids in greens? Also, they are quite fun to run even if you don't go for gold.

Ok, but that's like signing up for the Olympics and going "I'm not gonna try for gold, I just want the experience and my free participation ribbon!".
I mean, there's a design flaw somewhere if people are only running the hardest content in the game in order to gear up for the other content, and not because they actually want a challenge.

Come now, people are facetious, just stating main reason doesn't mean other reasons don't matter.

Well that's the wrong point of view on the game. "-Why do you kill monsters? -To get more gear! -Why? -To kill more monsters! -Why? -To get more gear!" etc.
In order for you to experience the higher levels of challenge you have got to have proper gear. I think arena is the perfect example of that. Say you are a skilled master. And you know you can challenge people on top ratings and get gladiator title. But in order to do that, you've gotta have the GEAR. Without it no matter how skilled you are, you won't be able to advance to these levels (this only worked in vanilla...maybe tbc for a bit). So you need better gear, you have to be rewarded with it from smaller challenges in order to advance to the higher ones. See?

I can't speak for everyone but I'm pretty sure people have been 'whoring' for gear like it's the only thing that matters since Vanilla

What if i told you that people like the challenge AND the gear? Mindblowing amirite?

atleast for me the speedrunning aspect is kind of meh to me because of gear differences. Speedrunning is more enjoyable when everyone is playing on an even field.
I just enjoy them for the challenge + gear

I just enjoy them for the challenge + gear But, they ARE normalized to an even playing field.
Unless you mean extreme min/maxing like secondary stats

I wouldn't even call it extreme, proper secondaries make a big difference.

Now you may argue that Mythic is not the end game but for those people farming CM dailies for gear it most likely is.
Yes wow is gear > bosses > more gear > more bosses for a lot of raiders. Welcome to the formula that has kept this game going for a decade.

On a sidenote the fact that armor/weapon enhancement for followers don't stack is sorta annoying in terms of bag space ;;.

In our small pvp guild, we do CM just because it's hard for us to finish them, we usually do them in 2 or 3 hours, depending on people's afk during them. Honestly, you don't need to aim for gold to fidn them fun...
