Just as a contingency:

If Llamaserver for whatever reason does a turn with some players not in (because of whatever problem it's having), don't look at the .trn file -- the host should rollback and let everyone resubmit.

I don't know if anything changed but rollbacks in dom 3 were a sure way to get the game bugged. Disappearing commanders, vanishing items, teleporting armies and so on.

rollbacks must be actively avoided. people still gonna watch the .trn file with all the info that it means.

llamaserver has different servers for the mail and the game itself, so when those things happen, the mails gonna be in queue, and the game server will process the turn with all the .2h files received in the downtime.

Rawr Still playing my first game about to win pretty soon. I just feel like im not allocating my resources very well. Im pretty sure I should of won this game already. I just found out about the income box and I really like that cause it can give me info if im using that state's resources properly.

So in teamliquid1 the turn got delayed by about 30 hours, right? so we're on the same turn we were before the 8 hours downtime or so

What orders does one typically give to flying troops fighting alongside mostly melee? I just got trounced in a single player EA game as helheim largely because my 30 valkyries suicided into a bunch of ulm mountain dudes.

You can try "hold and attack rear" so your fliers will engage on hopefully either squishier guys or guys that are already engaged to their front. But Ulm soldiers are quite tough for EA, and Mountain Warriors hit extremely hard if they're allowed to gnaw on your guys. Ulm is the nation of infantry that punches above its weight, and getting your valkyries pounded on by an equivalent cost of Ulm dudes is not going to end well.

Oh, thank you. I didn't know that.

Oh and barbarians are surprisingly soft and squishy. I got an event telling me that that barbarians are planning to attack my province. Then I started moving some army there but before they arrived, the barbarians attacked and got wrecked by a the puny PD.

I'm not very experienced, but generally I don't use flyers to attack main armies. They're good for hitting vulnerable parts of the army if they exist (e.g. attack rear), but that doesn't always work out.

Otherwise, they're good for hitting provinces *without* big armies in them.

On Barbarians: they're either difficult or a breeze depending on the PD and your national troops. If you're playing with large sums of missile troops, they rout easily esp. in friendly dominion with their shitty morale and undisciplined formation. If however you don't have missile troops and are in neutral dominion, their attacks really fucking hurt, and can maul elite troops/melee opponents.

Hold-Attack Rear usually, or Hold-Attack Archers. Some variation of those.

If you're playing Helheim though, always go for the Helhirdings over the Valkyries, unless you really want to raid. Helhirdings are among the archetypical elite-bless units.

Holy points=Base dominion (from your pretender select)+temples/5 (rounded down).

AKA, you can have 10 base dominion, and building temples will still increase holy points (but only every 5th temple you have up).
