the only reason it showed up as me as attacking you is RNG
'don't go here or we will have war' is not a negotiation, anyway that place is way closer to my capital than yours so don't pretend you're just 'securing your borders' tt

In order to ignore a group of enemies that is close-by and continue to go forward towards the enemy backlines your sqaud has to pass a morale check. If you fail it, they just charge at the closest thing they see iirc.

Tolkien: do players normally patch mid-game, or wait until the end?
There don't seem to be large changes for our game, mainly the pop cap (30k), perhaps the air bless giving + range?
Significant changes to Caelum and Abysia, by the looks of it.

Actually, that's a good question, cuz I'm using a steam copy, and so far as I know, steam auto-patches, so will that take me out of the game?

Patching should be fine. The only thing is that it'll corrupt some of the batreps that previous turns will give so that watching the battle may give radically different results (nothing else changes, however). If you saved turns for AARs, you're outta luck.
I'm also pleasantly surprised by the changes that they instituted for Caelum. They finally fleshed out the Zoroastrian elements of the nation (and the new pretender selections are utterly fantastic for Caelum, no ifs, ands, or buts), and Caelum finally got some of the elements it needed: sacred archer, and ice forging to replace the near useless forge bonus on Ice Crafters.
Seraphines being H1 and having a 20% chance at fire (?!?) is lol.

I'm really hoping that there's some hotfix coming for the StR issue. While I do benefit from it thanks to my best commanders being StR I'd still like the game to be as it's meant to be.
