That's a lie. People run Morrigan/Doom all the time, it's just Chris G runs it best. Morrigan/Doom still effective even without Chris G's execution.

over / under on 4 Vergils being in top 8 in MvC?

Not effective enough to place high though Throwing stuff on screen is one thing, but knowing when to rush in is another.
Its like Cable in MvC2. His tools are easy to do, but at the highest level, he's the hardest to use because to be effective with him, you have to have the best intangibles (game sense, zoning, etc)

As much as I love Skullgirls. You can tell the top 8 arent using all the optimal set ups, combos and at times they look like they're just randomly mashing. Makes sense cuz no one really "mains" this game anymore. Shame because it's potential and skill ceiling is just so high but people have been lazy and preferred the mainstream games. (This is a similar story of why KoF is dying and Smash hasn't made it big) Gameplay wise it's what marvel should have been but there's just a lack of interest for multiple reasons .
The players in Top 3 are really good though and deserve to be there

Justin? More like Just win.

Capcom sure knows how to make fighter games.

Just from what I recall from the streams at Salty Cupcakes, aren't 7 or all 8 players people that actually stuck with the game throughout it all?

Mainstream games get big because pushing power from not only competitive players from other hardcore gamers. KoF is just not popular in America. Also Smash is totally a mainstream game and has no problems whatsoever as it is already BIG. I mean 3rd most entrants for SSBM that's survived for 12 years.
