Seems like crafting has gotten a huge upgrade... There seemed to be a lot of new crafting items like titanium and ceramic. Are you diversifying so there is more variety in the types of items users need to build new gear? The crafting system is insane. It's completely out of my range to talk about, but I know that Massive has put a lot of time into it. It doesn't come into play in organized PvP, but we'll have crafting nodes it the dark zone so players can gather and get all the things they need. There is a lot. Also clans... Let's talk about clans. How are you handling clan progression? What are the rewards behind that? Isthat cosmetic emblems and things like that? It's absolutely cosmetic. We want to make sure that people who participate in the clan feature can be as flamboyant as they want to really deck out their character and make sure they can be as proud as they want of their organization. There's nothing behind clans. If you were not to participate, you're not missing out on anything beyond being a part of a special community. You're not missing out on weapons or gear or anything like that. Are you creating an infrastructure that allows clans to matchmake and scrimmage with other clans? At launch, that's not integrated. But I can tell the goal is to have clans be part of all the features in the game. Right now, no, there isn't a custom match with clan, but hold tight. Source In a new interview, Tony Sturtzel, the senior producer at The Division 2 developer Red Storm Entertainment, shed more light on the game’s DLC plans. Sturtzel confirmed that there are plans to introduce more PvP game modes as free, post-launch updates. The developer added that the aim of the team is to “ship this game with a few maps uniquely built for the best PvP experiences.” Though, Sturtzel also stressed that The Division 2‘s competitive multiplayer wouldn’t be the only area of the game to benefit from post-launch content updates. Additionally, players of the upcoming shooter can expect to see more “story-driven missions and map expansions.” Like the new PvP modes, this story-focused DLC will also be available for free. Sturtzel explains that this is part of the team’s “ongoing commitment to keep our dedicated community energized and playing.” Sturtzel also explains that the team has an “endgame-first mentality.” The developer adds that this means that “fans can expect more content drops in the future after completing the campaign.” It has already been confirmed that The Division 2‘s story will take players dozens of hours to complete and with side missions, PvP, and post-launch content, players will have more than a few reasons to continue to play the game. During the interview, Sturtzel did not explicitly state how long it would take the team to add this content. It’s unclear how long the development team(s) would need to assess player feedback and figure out what players would require from new PvP maps. The studio may have some ideas, but it’s not known whether these ideas are in the works or if they are still at the drawing board stage. Source

In short upon release, if the attributes don't change. Collect and equip the Overlord, and Douglas & Harding sets for your chars.

Reason being, they got credit with me - played 200 hours roughly of Division 1, bought a few skins and the season pass. Looked at the prices, decided i wanted the game plus season pass, and then saw that Ultimate was somewhat reduced and was basically like a 5er or something more expensive than game + season pass. Went for that then. Because i love living the dangerous life!

Because that is the only reason I had zero interest in the last one. dark zones has apparently changed significantly compared to the old one, based on the videos i've seen. can't remember specific details though i'm afraid

Will this be any good for playing solo? I vaguely remember Division 1 beeing very team dependant (dark zone) if you wanted to get any loot out of it.

The PvE sounds very promising. Also Talents have been scrapped which throws Armor sets completely out the window now.

I played D1 solo for a long time and it was absolutely fine. D2 will be fine too - of course, as a solo in one of the DZs, you got to play more carefully. That being said, i extracted gear from DZ as a solo in D1 too. You just have to be more careful. Other than that, just played the first 10 minutes now, pretty sure i'm going to sink another 100+ hours into this one. It feels good, once you get over the fact that some things feel "different", like the UI/Inventory management (minimap smaller and on wrong side, too). Though, i don't understand why they've decided to put "dismantle" in the inventory on TAB now, rather than X as it was. It's confusing after dismantling literally thousands of items. Muscle memory. Not sure how much i enjoy the unlock variants of the skills, haven't tested it yet - there's a lot of "micromanagement" involved with a few skills now, like the Turret that comes now in a sniper variant that you have to manually designate targets for, and the Drone has some similar stuff. Sounds interesting, but time will tell how much space/time/focus one can spend in combat to micromanage that. Intend to play basically the entire evening with fiancee and a mate, i'm very confident from what i've seen so far that we're gonna love it. edit: forgot to mention, zero technical issues so far - had a queue of 200 ppl when i logged in, was roughly 10 seconds of waiting - i personally prefer queues over broken servers and endless loading screens. That being said, didn't restart after setting it to DX12 - something that absolutely did not work in Division 1 for me and my 2080ti with crashes that you could set your timepiece to. (Almost) Literally every 2 minutes the game would crash. Hope that's fixed, gonna check later tonight.

saw a writeup on reddit about some of the big changes from the first game. enemies are much less bullet spongey and react to being shot. there's incentive to keep crap gear that might have one perfect roll as you can transfer that roll to another piece of gear in recalibration. looking forward to playing the beta, then i might consider preordering.

Also, you can't cancel a skill anymore, in D1 when you pressed E for the turret for example, you got to chose where you want to throw it, left click to throw or cancel. You can't cancel anymore in D2, i'm not sure if it's a bug or intended. I'll be honest, the game is fun to play and the Division bug basically instantly bit again, but i'm not confident for the launch.

edit: which obviously makes sense since the character instantly puts the seeker mine on the floor as soon as you press E (or Q), which it didn't in D1. edit2, double checked - yeah, you can still cancel the turret - but you can't cancel the seeker mine. Which btw makes the name now completely moronic, since it's not seeking anything anymore. It's now a "radio controlled mine" at best.
