I wonder how hits are registered in this game. This one was on a server with rain, where it seemed to lag every now and then, and the rain would restart. Suddenly I see a guy sliding across town with a pistol in his hands. Taking no chances I fire away, but never seem to hit with anything. I use 20 bullets, and then suddenly everything warps and I find myself sitting where I was a couple of seconds ago, and he's missing. I look around and find his dead body somewhere else completely, nowhere near where I was shooting. And then the body disappeared..weird bugs be had.

Are you certain tho? Something similar happened to a friend of mine who got into a firefight, and after fixing himself he suddenly fell into permanent unconsciousness due to low blood value. If your blood is low it can happen at random times. Luckily we where around to help him out.


I'm positive it was through a wall, someone told me that bullet penetration is very easy to do in this game, I have no idea. It was in the firehouse stairwell bottom floor.

I feel like I'm going to get some shit for this, but it's really fucking stupid that unarmed people are so threatening in the standalone. I get that the thought process probably went something like "players should be able to defend themselves against zombies or players early on", but the OHK shoryuken is garbage. hitting somebody three times with a firefighter axe, having them lag at you from a couple meters away and then the black screen coming out of nowhere is unbelievably frustrating. they need to normalize the damage on all the non-axe weapons to like 3 hits to kill a zombie and make the fists slightly worse while removing this stupid mechanic. I shouldn't have to run like an idiot from someone I hit once and wait for them to bleed out while they streak beside me and try to cheese me to death.

I learned the hard way about the punch mechanics in the game... Got knocked right out in a fistfight, not trying to aim for their head. I agree that it is a bit much, not everyone can knock someone out in just a punch or two.. In fact most people can't. If realism is what they're after it should be dialed back a bit.

Pretty sure my friend who lost his char with pretty must the best gear available and a full accessories mosin to a sprinting dude that one shot KO'd him would agree with you :D the melee mechanics are not yet tuned out, the melee weapons are pretty much useless aside from the axes and fists are too dangerous. The permanent sprint is pretty retarded too. Pretty sure they'll look into that soon enough.

They've finally fixed the rubber banding I've had problems with it almost whole day today. Build is tested right now, should be up within 24h.

New:

Design: Balancing of player spawns (ongoing)
Server: Dead player cleanup (time based)
Design: M9130 Bayonet can now open cans

Fixed:

Server: Dedicated Server crash related to player skeleton
Server: Player location rubberbanding
Server: Large delay in item manipulation and "inventory tetris"

If they remove permanent sprint... ill just make my own server where i can enable it.

It burns water/hunger more quickly, is more than enough penalty along with not being able to have your weapon out while sprinting.

The map is too big and spread out to make traveling/roaming more inconvenient.

Yeah you're totally right and until we get vehicles it's kind of mandatory if you want to cross at least half the map or so, what I meant was that it was retarded in combat. It's so easy to dodge shots and escape with it, and/or rush and melee mosins. It's fun though, won't deny it.

Wear a bike helmet, it mostly prevents the knockouts.

There was a moment on Liriks stream today where 12+ unarmed people tried to swarm and kill one guy with a bike helmet and m4 who just mowed them all down, without much trouble. Unarmed players are not very threatening >.<...

if passive stats on apparel are a thing, do you have a source? not that I don't believe you, but it would be helpful if I knew that ballistic helmets might do the same thing, etc.

There's also a glitch in the game atm that makes you run faster than normal: Press space while having your fist out, hold left click, then double tap W and release left click as soon as you start running. You'll run a bit faster than normal this way :D

its not a glitch, its just running while fighting mode. unintended to be used for long distance traveling though.

known bug that you teleport back if you fist sprint for an extended time.

There is a bug that stops you from being able to jog that happens sometimes. Try double clicking on the right mousebutton, and hold it down for a second on the second click, so you zoom a little. That uusually fixes it for me. Bug probably due to client thinking you're aiming without actually doing it.

Im totally not digging the Day Z spawns atm lol. Putting me in the middle of the map with no hope of player interaction or barn/deerstand hunting. Not even bikes/cars that I can be hopeful to find. It was fun while it lasted, but looks like Ill have to wait for next major patch or something =x

Why is that? I´d be happy if I´d spawn in the middle of the map. Most of the loot nearby, always something to drink at wells or seas, most bandits are at the coast in cherno/elektro.

Have they changed the way loot works? I'm really struggling to find any food or drink anywhere. Like none of the side towns have anything but lots of clothes. Been to elecktro a few times went to the supermarket and school and found a screwdriver and a bunch of random stuff but nothing to comfort my hunger or thirst.

Also where did all the zombies go? There are like near to none any more.
