Compared to other recent launches I would say it is incredibly smooth.

Compare this to minecraft alpha- big tick to rocket.

The re-release for me definitely recaptures and improves all what made the original good.

Things like realistic inventory management (i.e storing stuff in pants or only being able to use stuff placed in your hands)
Broken scopes on guns showing shattered glass
More crafting elements

The main negative is the lack of zombies- but we know this will be improved. This game with good zombies would be amazing as currently you barely have to worry about them.

When you purchase the game it makes you tick a big disclaimer acknowledging the state of the game and it is plastered all over the entry screen and every interview by the devs.

If your expecting a polished and finished game which is better than the mods then you clearly fail at reading comprehension.

Anyone else getting attacked by invisible zombies? Also just got shot dead... respawned, went to other server, and im alive with all my gear again

I played today and i have to say that the 24 € are totally worth it. I get the chills like at the beginning of DayZ mod. Even though the zombies are no thread, its so much fun to just walk through the buildings and scavenge some loot. Im excited for the next patches!

I wonder if Rocket is just going to dump a ton of zombies on the servers all at once. That'll be an interesting surprise for players on their next login.

So is the map used in the Standalone the same as the mod? I thought I was at cherno but I really don't know anymore.

Good luck finding a gun, I had no luck at the Balota barracks. Just a bunch of bodies with nothing but flashlights.

Same map, more buildings/doodads. Terrain layout seems a little different too, might just be my imagination though.

I swear the terrain is different. I was coming up to cherno from the west side and I swear I don't recognize any of it except some hills.

The barracks in the military base just north of Kamenka and the ones in Zelenogorsk are always loaded with m4s, 35 slot backpacks and 8 slot vests. The ones in Zeleno usually have the doors shut still so you know you've stumbled upon a jackpot.

All the coastal towns are completely pillaged. The cities have scraps just because of their sheer size but if you successfully make it to Zeleno you will have a bag full of food/drink and weapons.

At least it is LABELED as ALPHA and is sold as ANTICIPATED Access which is something that some games didn't do (see my angry blog for Broken sword 5 that is not labelled as an unfinished game but has it written in the description. But you don't read the description to a game franchise that you know and you don't read click & point "functionality steam sheet").

I really don't like that all people released their alpha before christmas. But if it can help to have a polish game why not. But please stop bitching about it. You made your point, people disagree with you. They have your opinions you have yours. We understood.

Now i hope to now read people that shares experience of playing rather than ranting of the price system.

So basicly for now the differences with the mod are (correct me).

- New inventory
- Altered map but kind of the same
- Every enterable building
- Rarity of item
- Rarity of Zombie (they could say that's it's the start of the outbreak and realease a fuck ton of zombie on the server).
- Improved melee combat

What else ?

You cant craft guns but the guns have gun parts you can remove and swap for new ones and add alot of stuff like acogs and red dot sights etc.

I've felt like exploring so I went all the way to Guba, it really shows how massive hopefully this game will be when it reaches beta/release stages.
North has a railway/roads leading across the map with fundation and plots for future buildings, they are all over

Guba is completelly reworked, no more bay, there is a half done city with buildings, all enterable with loot inside.

Everything up to airfields/Krasnostav is done so they are most likely working on the north right now.
SA is pretty basic game right now, it gives a player a fairly good base to play a survival/kidnaping game. Zombies are not scary and there is not a lot of them. M4's are easy obtainable especially if people venture further north.
Overall I think it's a good product but you need friends to play around and do crazy stuff, for lone wolfing it gets boring after you get food/water and reach good military loot.
