Mate said be a pro has improved nicely, with getting xp at the end of game and spending points in specific stats yourself instead of having to do challenges. Also the "Journey" story mode is amazing, all be it, it is only 1 season long. Which to me points at fkn DLC is coming for FIFA..... On proper footballing gameplay i am not so sure, my mate said it is different again to FIFA 16.

Removing the accomplishments and instead focusing on how well you actually play during games to increase your stats feels like better design. I do like Journey as well, though have only played it for about an hour. I can feel it becoming less interesting over time though. Anyway, waiting for the PM with your Origin nick, whenever you have the game.

There's a few optimization problems for some people here and there, you may not be missing a lot depending on if you were lucky/unlucky with unwanted lag here and there. A patch should definitely be out by then.

I got FIFA 18 in some sale this year and I've really tried to enjoy it...but I can't. It's bloated, the "campaign" is retarded and I'm not interested in playing that UT bullshit grind fest. All I want from a football game is a good sim, which controls nicely. And that's where FIFA disappointed me. Some parts of the gameplay are way off, e.g. all those "near misses" and post hits. I used to be a PES guy back in the day, but after PES6 the series got worse every year. Right now, there's no football game for me, which saddens me. I always liked to casually play some matches from time to time.

After FIFA17 (skipped 18) the ball control seems a bit wonky again, definitely less glued to your feet. I enjoy the collisions and 50/50 challenges a lot, they feel impactful and realistic. Few new controls and changes mostly concerning shooting and dribbling take a bit of getting used to but overall I'm happy with how it plays. New game modes are fun but I don't see myself going back to them over and over after the initial interest is over. Overall I'm happy with it, excellent experience for mates sitting on a couch playing a few games with each other, no idea how online scene is and how the game will play out for those more into that side of things.
