JP literally killing the show with whatever the hell he is doing. the constant tech issues and JP's clear and present infatuation with tudagub-as-wizard with snappy comebacks has combined to probably make this the worst overall episode, but "killing the show"? cease the histrionics please. geoff is putting the stream on his back, as he tends to do, and in terms of pacing this was really unavoidable unless they just wanted to throw the reroll into the party with no questions asked.

In the earlier shows there were purposeful things to do each week like retrieving magic items, escorting the caravan, or raiding the goblin cave. Now it seems like there's a lot of dead ends like the empty cave on the island, or uninterested NPCs like the lighthouse keeper and priest in this week's episode. I think it wouldn't hurt to be generous in unimportant matters like letting the priest heal Geoff, or letting JP find a child when he had some mischief in mind, or having the woman take JPs offer for money. The characters don't feel like heroes when every NPC seems indifferent to them.

I think it would be better to be generous in unimportant matters like letting the priest heal instead of quibbling, or letting JP find a child when he had some mischief in mind, to move things along. I think part of the problem is they are in situations and doing things that make it very hard for the DM to help them out while making it look natural. This is also JP's new introduction so I think he wants it to unfold organically.

JP's choice of backstory made the pacing go this way IMO. His character is secretive and antagonistic. Of course there would be a jarring change when integrating a new character, but this is especially painful. I'm just hoping bannon doesn't turn into tudagub with arcane instead of divine spells. I'm hoping as they progress together that things can move along more smoothly. edit: this seems to be getting a bit better...

It would be a bit disappointing if he made a character that was essentially the same but with different powers and no drinking.

In actual fact not anyone's fault, even though JP sucked (no offense) it's not anyone's fault'. I just feel like a tiny bit of metagaming on JP's part would have been really worthwhile for the viewers (not that what JP is doing isn't legitimate and in full RP, I just think for think for the benefit of the show, a little metagaming would be AMAZINGLY beneficial (would have saved lierally 2 hours with virtually no loss to relevant back story).
