Especially the part about getting Banon into the group was fun. I don't know what your guys experience with introduction of new characters to the group is, but i made the experience that this is the most time consuming stuff in roleplay (unless you go with "you seem trustworthy do you want to join us on out noble quest") This 1000000000%, it was very enjoyable imo

It'll be interesting to see how JP plays Banon. Sure, i hope it won't be just an "evil" and non-drinking version of tudagub. I also can't believe how good the new song is by Zabimaru. Once again, fantastic job. If some random douche appears and insults them or any of the party members (in this case Tudagub), Vincent would be the first one to slap that guy in the face and cut off his head. They were trying to get across how they didnt like that new Banon dude and didnt trust him, but still let them join their party? Makes no sense. JP made it really hard for them to let him join the party without making it feel forced, so thats his fault, but they could have rollplayed it better and actually killed that douche Banon. If someone tries to join your party and the first thing he does is to disrespect your dead party members, especially if i am just in the mourning phase, i would never let that guy join my party, maybe even kill him on the spot. They metagamed it way too hard by letting him join the party considering their actual feelings regarding that Banon dude.

That is always a problem if you have a group with no real reason to hang out together in the first place. At the beginning, you can go with "yeah, you all know each other", but after that, all people involved should just show some common sense. Don't play a guy that has no reason to run around with that weird group, and don't question too deeply why you should let that weird guy join you, or why you would want to join this group of semi-criminal hobos. I actually prefer the "you seem trustworthy, come join us" way of doing this. Sometimes you gotta metagame a bit to make this fun. Or at least make a character that would have a good reason to join a group of "adventurers" (more like hired thugs), and make compelling arguments as to why they should let you join.

You are never going to truly separate a character from the person that plays them, unless you want the character to appear flat and not genuine, or the RPer is an amazing actor. Enter Banon. His attempts to join the party out of the blue seemed really strange. Saying "my life-long quest (to find the stolen Pink Boots of my father) was stopped dead in its tracks (by you), but hey, can I join you?" felt out of place. JP should have played it out better and more believably I feel. For instance, he could have offered his services since he had traveled this far already (without the explicit goal to join the party), and then just slowly grow into staying with them for good over time.

He just wanted to burn him and all of his belongings (!) as quickly as possible. It felt like only Geoff was informed (by JP?) before the show that re-rolling was a foregone conclusion. I wish Abigael had at least followed through in taking all of Tudagub's valuable and iconic belongings (Pink Boots, healing bracelet, etc.). It's dumb not to do that when the party needs everything at their disposal to survive in the Elven Lands. The Pink Boots were also a key item to tie in the new JP character, yet again the party, or more so Vincent this time, managed to destroy a valuable quest item. So aggravating sometimes. Enter Banon. Reviving someone is a huge miracle. Just because we all know there is a spell, this doesn't mean that the characters know it for sure. They killed lords and paladins and they weren't revived so why should Tudagub be an exception to it. People die in that world and you have to accept it.
