The match fixing problem is when players are blatantly not trying to win / not actually competing anymore. Evo's grand finals for marvel were amazing despite the pot being split because the players still competed for the title. VxG's marvel finals on the other hand... I turned that shit off immediately ![]() I disagree on the better games aspect as well. I could care less if someone hits all their combos and makes crazy reads in casuals, it's when they can do it with everything on the line that makes it brilliance. Anyone can play risky when there's no actual risk taken, but few players can do it well in tournaments, and that's what makes it so special. VGX GF was alllllllllllllllllllllllll about the commentary. Yipes/Neo talking about who they would pick between Morrigan/Trish, Neo's Elmo laugh, and FChamp getting bounced and trolled by Yipes was one of the best things to listen to.

New player (I've played 3h of the Steam beta) here, but I'm thinking of running a team of Ms. Fortune/Valentine/Squigly. Is it a bad team or what should I change? I really like Ms. Fortune and Valentine, so those are essentially locked for me

Not sure who to put last really. Perhaps Peacock ? It works correctly as a 2 character team for now, and fooling around with Solo Bella is hilarious. One combo > reset > command grab is a kill in a 1v3, and even in 1v2 sometimes. By the way, practicing combos is way too much fun in games like this one.

I think most people would put Parasoul or Double on anchor for the assist power, and I don't know what Squigly offers in that department. Go Valentine/Fortune/Squigly with Fiber Upper assist for Fortune, and a good horizontal assist for Squigly, ideally one that will put them in blockstun for awhile. Yeah, I guess Double might work with Fortune/Valentine as well. Also, I'm most likely buying a Stick when I move back for my studies (Which happens to collide with the PC release of SG). After having played 90 hours of SSF4AE with keyboard, transitioning is going to take some time, but with Skullgirls I'll be of to a fresh start

And how good is the PC version?

I'd say that even with the smaller cast, it's harder to start out with than SF4. The tutorial is great, though - even if you end up not buying a copy of the game, try to track down a beta key just to play it.

Technical wise, the PC version is really good overall. And I agree with Lemstar, even though SF4 would be easier to learn for a complete newbie (as long as you avoid the execution-heavy characters like Gen or C.Viper), Skullgirls has hands-down the better tutorial.
