Is it worth it? if you are actually planning on playing other 3DS games then yes. if you are just getting it for pokemon, not really. Might as well just keep playing online if you like the battling aspect, the story is pretty meh/ok this gen.

I never use the 3D its just headache inducing. so yea if it saves you money and you don't give a shit about the stupid 3D then just go with that

Gameplay-wise I don't think you'll see any difference between the three, it's just a matter of which suits your taste best (3DS is slightly more portable, XL has the clarity of bigger screens, 2DS is if you don't care about either and just want hardware to run the game).

I got the XL cause I found my hands were too big to comfortably grip the 3DS. But do note that you might be holding it for hours so you definitely have to consider the comfort of holding it!

Eventually it will turn into setup fodder unless it learns some new tricks I honestly think its only versatile and well-rounded on a trick room team. There are other pokemon that are overhyped like aegislash that fall into the same trap. once people understand king's shield he too will become setup fodder.

King's shield really only works to phase out and allow you to set you up in peace. If you get trick room and a sword dance up it doesn't really matter. I really don't see many sets running it unless you were using him as a tank or something.

A good way to check is to like thunder wave it first to see if shed skin goes off or not. It doesn't always heal debuffs but still decent odds. You lose your quick ball opportunity but that was pretty shaky for me on dragonairs without capturing power on. Also takes reduced physical damage under status debuff with marvel scale (hidden ability that turns into multiscale) so hit it with a false swipe and see if it does less damage than normal. You can trade a jiggylpuff for a bisharp in the snow town that has decent attack (high base+adamant nature)+learns false swipe/thunder wave so I've just been using that to catch everything.

Doesn't seem worth it from all his glaring type weaknesses. He will be amazing at hit and runs regardless due to always having shield mode when you switch in. Very few pokemon will be able to OHKO him and those that can will be scared to death of the threat of king's shield

Not sure how true it is if some people are saying that if both players were not online together at least once that you won't be able to get Hidden Abilities for that set. Been online with him I think this is just Karma screwing me over for a first try perfect Goomy and Braixen at this point. It'd be less painful if I could use false swipe on it...
