No, you can easily see it in most cases, the colours are usually pretty different. And when you encounter them in the wild theres a sparkle around them at the start of the fight and it makes a sparkling sound | ||

They are pretty rare, I played over 100 hours in black2 and never encountered one wildly. I breed a shiny chikorita once only during my entire time playing black2 only to be too stupid and forgot to save and lost her -_-. So dont be too scared that you might of accidently ran away from one because chances are, you probably never encountered one lol. | ||

It's a welcome change for me. EV train your team, then use Exp Share and Lucky Egg to make grinding to level 100 faster. | ||
