When you catch it there'll be an indicator on its profile.

No, you can easily see it in most cases, the colours are usually pretty different. And when you encounter them in the wild theres a sparkle around them at the start of the fight and it makes a sparkling sound

They are pretty rare, I played over 100 hours in black2 and never encountered one wildly. I breed a shiny chikorita once only during my entire time playing black2 only to be too stupid and forgot to save and lost her -_-. So dont be too scared that you might of accidently ran away from one because chances are, you probably never encountered one lol.

also diggersby gets huge power, fuck yeah. he'll be slightly viable Diggersby's Atk is slighter higher than Azumarill, it will definitely have a niche in the meta. It also has U-turn, Wild Charge, Quick Attack, Rock Slide, Agility, Bulk Up and Swords Dance. Edit: What level is the second gym leader's highest Pokémon? I don't what to know what it is, just the level. I think 25. If such is the case then I'm stupidly overleveled, time to spend some time with the boxed stuff.

This seems cool but I'll never buy a 3DS just for this

I am not a fan of this exp share at all. Really dumb down the game. I been just using my starter like 95% of the time :/

You can turn it off...
It's a welcome change for me. EV train your team, then use Exp Share and Lucky Egg to make grinding to level 100 faster.

Ive followed in the past quite a bit of competitive pokemon, but can somebody explain to me what the deal with the mega pokemon, is that an evolution or wtf

This takes place in battle, an option right below your moves. You activate it and then choose your move, and then they Mega Evolve and attack afterwards.
Mega Evolution only lasts for the fight. Each one is different. Blaziken gets a stat boost, Gyrados changes type, others change Abilities, etc.

I think the consensus is that you should turn it off until post-game unless you're OK with ruining the difficulty for yourself.

Eh the free + Show Spoiler + makes it pretty easy so far even without the EXP-Share.

Can someone sticky the levels of each gym without listing the pokemon to the top of the page (would help if Elite Four is there too)? Don't want to give myself a cakewalk during the play.

there is no possible way to make the story in this game difficult so don't bother. too many freebies and all kinds of dumbed down. its like the complete opposite of black/white. Focus on endgame content and stuff for the difficulty because you won't find it in the main story this gen

I had my own Lucario before I even got to the 2nd gym.

Well I entered the E4 10 levels underleveled and had to actually strategize the battles. I dont know, but I didnt think it was too easy, mabye its just me though.
I used neither Exp-share nor any free pokemon, not even the second starter. Full team of 6 random new Pokemon that I thought looked cool.
