you should not send spears on attacks. They die without contributing much attack value, resulting in loss.
I'm not sure about the pallies...
poor kazansky has run out of targets for big raids. We have broken naps with all the weak alliances.

You need to keep in mind that you're getting losses not profits from these attacks... huge losses I should add.

Well that depends... for me at least about half of the time when I kill off a village's big army he will start to build crannies or continue making troops, making him still unprofitable.
I would wait until I have a much bigger unit count before crushing the guys with troops. You're losing almost half your army each time in these raids. Losing a clubswinger at this stage is more than losing 250 resource. You're also losing potential profits you could have gotten from that unit through raiding.

After an attack like that the other guy will/should cranny up(upgrade and/or build another) and use all his resources so another attack will not be worth it; although a lot of people aren't that smart and let themselves get raided.
guess I was beat to it.

It's tough to decide whether to attack a guy. In addition to the bounty you might get, and the bounty you might get in the future, you improve your ability to farm the nearby inactives whenever you take out an active player's army.
Still it's not worth losing 18k of clubs (4 clubs = 1k resources) to liberate 8k of resources. That's too big a loss.
