The only instance in which you lose all your points is when the server crashes. Right now it's a rare occurrence but in first few days it was almost every game. As I've experienced it, people just run around in place and everything freezes.If you crash it's very simplw, don't reconnect to that server, at the end of the map server will send battlereport with all your stats, battlelog will calculate your rewards/medals and all is fine and dandy. Just go ahead and play on a different server, yes you will lose your unlocks/rewards (not battle packs tho, they are available the second you get them) but only for a brief time till the battlereport is sent. | ||

It's mostly annoying if you're playing with friends and it crashes midround in a match with a lot of tickets. You either have to go somewhere else where your friends aren't playing, or wait around for 20 minutes for the round to end. | ||

Edit: been putting a lot of hours into hardcore team death match. Seems to be good for raising my k:d ratio. I'm so bad at flying, all I do is die in conquest when I go for a plane | ||

Thing is that to learn to dogfight properly requires you to have someone to fly against. Learn how to keep your speed at the optimal turning speed when circle jerking around. Learn how to scissor, barrel roll etc. and do manoeuvres like these consistently. If you can learn things like that, you'll outfly the majority of random pubbie pilots. | ||

Decent at everything else, but those jet objectives are going to be the bane of me. That reminds me, does the F-35 still hover in BF4? Maybe I can get jet points by hovering and capturing points. | ||

What a fuckin stupid concept that is. Sit afk and hold your fire button towards the sky. I mean watching grass grow requires more skill than that shit. Anyway, how do you fly? You use arrow keys and WASD or mouse or what? I feel like I can't turn fast enough with mouse, but if I use arrow keys then I can't aim. And in any case it goes way too fast, but that might be because I never use the brakes. | ||

Bind pitch up to space and unbind fire from space. This way you turn and then hold space to go in circles, and now you just gotta keep your course, keep account on locks/ECM, ammo, enemy air asset positions and turnspeed. If you don't use brakes you're not going to ever outfly anyone. Max turning speed is about 305-315, possibly a bit wider in this game I believe people have been saying, but to keep it within that in a prolonged turn you have to use the brake. This not to mention that brakes are very useful when you're strafing ground targets or choppers and essential for stuff like scissoring. The worst thing is that the fighter jets just do no damage at all with their cannon. It's a fucking peashooter even against enemy jets. If you're inexperienced with staying on the tail of someone they will literally get away from you for long enough to passively regen the damage you deal back up again. Meanwhile Heatseekers are just incredibly frustrating and amazingly uninteresting, while also teaching you nothing about flying properly at all. | ||

Quick question regarding flying: Is it possible to have UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys inverted but then the mouse not inverted? That's how it was for me in BF2 and I can't seem to find the option in BF4 to do this. Kinda sucks because its hard to aim with u/d/l/r and if I had mouse un-inverted then it would be a lot easier than having to relearn how to aim with inverted mouse. edit: nvm figured it out. had to play around in the jet key bindings settings for mouse bindings | ||

So far, i've unlocked all of the assault rifles and don't really have a favorite they're all pretty meh. SCAR-H probably if I had to pick, all of the others have too high rates of fire for my liking. Moved onto the shotguns now, unlocked almost all of them but still using the 870MCS. SPAS-12 will probably be my favorite though, it was in BF3 So far, I like domination the most I would say, especially on operation locker. Carbines are next after shottys, and I have to say leveling shotguns is making this game pretty shitty to me lol. No matter what map it just seems like I need to get closer no matter what, aside from locker. Bleh. Also seems like the netcode is kinda fucked, sometimes I can shoot someone 3 times at about 10m range and not kill them with an 870MCS blast to the face, and other times its a 1 hit kill all the way across a room. T.T Love the game so far though, the new attack boats are fucking fun to play in on parcel storm when its gale force winds and huge waves. | ||
