Didn't seem to have it on the server I played last, last night though.
Yep, most servers are unplayable. I just keep server hopping until I find one that doesn't do that and favorite it.

Finally got my origin keys. At the very least the one thing that origin ever actually had going for it is that it caps out my download speed instead, so it's a quick download.

It was simply that vaulting is an utterly broken piece of shit mechanic that basically initiates an animation and then teleports the soldier at some point during the animation. True but the network smoothing in BF3 was just terrible over all (unless you used a 3rd party program) I guess I should've picked a better example. BC2 had a nice network smoothing because it didn't try to apply to an individual person -- it applied a set level for everyone so everyone was at practically the "same ping". So in BF3 it was applying to each person -- so sometimes a de sync would happen since not everyone would be at the same ping at the same time and then stupid things like 6 bullets hitting you at once would happen, or you die even though you made it around a corner already. Network smoothing reminds of the SC:BW network settings for LAN, low, mid and high latency. With BF4 having the LAN or 0% smoothing its great.
Side Note: The servers I've been on start to stutter like crazy when its RIGHT before (I hate to use it but...) Levolution events happen. I think because the event adds so much stuff to do while people are still playing that it just can't handle it. It calms down when its done levotutionzing the map.

I think there is an "Battlefield 4 + China Rising DLC Bundle"
at least that's what I got from MMOGA.de

So... is this game worth buying? I bought BF3 and all the xpacks and feel a little jaded towards this game. Seems to me like a reskin of BF3 with a reset to stats and a few new maps to again make a 60$ profit without actually putting in hard work. Could someone who played BF3 give me a few examples of what was improved?

Just beat the campaign on hard.
1. It isn't hard, you soak up a lot of bullets, some areas are just fucking annoying to fight (like destroying tanks and shit). 2. It's possibly the worst campaign I ever played. The story I could not give two shits about at all; was so weak and pointless.

Game just crashed twice on Siege of Shanghai... Really killing the mood right now.
|
Low graphics and still bad frame rate? T_T it spikes every now and then while playing...
|
playing the campaign, one of my guys starts endlessy kicking an invisible door, was funny until i figured out that i had to do the whole fucking map again to fix it...

No performance issues, no crashes, no rubber-banding etc here. I did have flashing disco lights raping my eyes until I updated to latest drivers. Now getting a solid 60-70 frames on ultra preset.
And I'll throw this up for people to see what performance they can probably expect on their own pc's:

Well seems like my upgrade to a 7850 will be worth it. Hopefully with the latest drivers I can get a solid 120fps in MP, but we'll see.

I have to wait till tomorrow to test it and I had a really bad overall FPS during beta, not even counting the common FPS drops. While I can play BF3 maxed out, BF4 ran pretty bad with medium-low settings. : /
Running it on I5-2500 & gtx 570. Both conservatively overclocked. 8 GB ram, windows 7 64 bit. All on relatively low resolution 1680x1050, since my monitor is a little older.
Alright, after an hour of testing yesterday I can safely say that the performance has improved significantly for me. I might still need to tweak it a bit, but high settings in 1680x1050 run smoothly with very rare drops to ~ 30 fps. The game is looking pretty good, not much worse than Bf 3 now Even better in details. Huge improvement compared to the beta.

Dont play the campagin, just don't.
I don't know if the weapons are worth it for multiplayer, but that was a really awful campaign through and through

Does anyone know how this game would run the following specs?
Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit 4 GB ddr3 ram Intel core i3 3220 Radeon HD 7770
It's well above the minimum requiements, but BETA was disastrous. It runs every other game I play pretty much effortlessly though (including BF3 on medium-high at acceptable frame rates) so I'm not looking to upgrade for a long time still. Thanks in advance.

I think that CPU is going to slow the game down a lot for you. you can look up for the videos on youtube and have a look

You can approximate your performance.
You'd need to lower your settings, and play at reasonable resolutions, but it'd be very playable. The game is running much better than it did in beta.

I'm looking at medium settings at 1600*900. Feasable, you think? Auto pre-set during beta was High, for some reason.

Has the new netcode fixed some of these Battlefield 3 issues? e.x:
1. Dying two seconds after you've taken cover due to magical lag-delayed bullets. Mostly. From what I could tell in the beta, it still happens, but it happens a lot less. The netcode is better, but not great. 2. Getting hit by what seems like 10 bullets simultaneously and dying instantly. Like getting headshot? 3. Being certain that you just shot someone to death, only to find out the server flagged you as dead before you even fired since your death was determined a second ago, but the server had yet to tell you you were even shot at. You mean lag plays a part in online games without hitscan weapons? Fuck me sideways with a helicopter collective. 4. Actually having an advantage by joining a high ping server since you could kill them before they received any indication from the server that they were being shot at. See previous statement. Ultimately, I found it absolutely ridiculous how it was actually optimal to join a server with 200+ ping, since the client side hit registration meant that you could get off about 5 or 6 "free" shots at someone before the server could even notify them about it through sound effects, damage markers, tracers...etc. The frustration of going from 100% hp to dead with literally zero opportunity to either take cover or shoot back was by far the worst part of Battlefield 3. Play on servers that kick you for 140ms+. These are all hyperbolic variants of the same problem (in-game lag). See point 1: The netcode is better, but not great. You will have a more positive experience across the board this time around, but if you're determined to hate it and are looking for confirmation bias, don't let me stop you. Well, I'm glad to hear that it's improved. I actually kind of preferred Bad Company 2's server side netcode. Sure it had its drawbacks (you had to fire an extra 4 shots into someone before you could be sure he was dead), but it seemed to offer a more consistent experience. Plus, since you weren't hit by 10 lag delayed bullet simultaneously, it allowed a wonderful interplay between the shooter and shootee. Where one guy tries to dive for cover while the other one is forced to adjust his aim. I felt like it made kills more difficult to earn, but also more satisfying. I just want to know if DICE ended up striking some sort of happy medium between BF3 and BC2's netcode, and how well they might have mitigated the issues BF3 had with its client side hit detection. If you're still concerned about the netcode, you can always hold off on the purchase for a week until you hear back from people whose opinions on the matter you trust. I can drop by a few days down the line and give you my impressions, but I'm not as bothered by it as you are.
As promised, some feedback:
There are significant issues with the game at launch, but not in the bad design department -- these are glaring issues that need to be fixed lest the userbase abandon the game in droves. We're talking insane server rubberbanding, frequent client crashes (the tower going down in Siege of Shanghai crashes the game for half the people in the server), server crashes, latency problems, etc. There is definitely a day 1 patch coming once the game is out in the UK. My only real gripe is that DICE has yet to acknowledge any of the problems - even with a blog post - so we're just sitting here jerking off on the forums.
As to the rest:
I do find myself being killed from behind walls occasionally, but it does happen less frequently now. It doesn't bother me as much as it does you, though. The netcode is generally improved, but it's certainly not top notch.
Apparently there is a bug where if you "overheal", i.e. you have low health and heal twice or more, you actually have 1hp even if your client says 100. This is unverified (it has been tested by consumers, but not extensively and not by DICE), but it seems to be the case, and this is the primary reason you some times find yourself seemingly one-hit killed.
Your projectiles do disappear post-death a lot of the time, so even if you see yourself shooting just before you die, the server thinks you're dead and invalidates your shot. In other words: not fixed.
Lastly, while the netcode has improved in most areas, mutual kills seem to happen a lot more frequently now. I don't know if that's just confirmation bias as I don't think anyone has done extensive testing on this, but it certainly seems to be the case.
But, again, it's an online game. Lag exists. I just deal with it.

BF4 will be offline today between 11am and 12pm UTC for optimizations and maintenance.
Here's hoping the server rubberbanding goes right the fuck away.
