Or maybe I'm just not used to the wonky new slower sprinting. And maybe I haven't played an FPS in so long but the recoil animation seems insane. I'll keep trying to play it for the next few days, but I might just need to get my feet wet again in order to enjoy this.

Even people with titans are reporting heavy frame rate issues. Wait until they fix it or release before upgrading if you plan on upgrading due to laggyness. In any event, despite the fact that we're less than a month from release, the build we're playing now is buggy as shit and giving a large portion of the public playing it performance issues (e.g. one particular issue sees the game maxing CPU usage and barely touching your GPU). What a surprise! It's a BETA. That said, DICE better have it under control in newer builds that exist at their offices or they have a shitload of work to do. It was, generally, a similar clusterfuck in the BF3 beta so I still have some faith that they will have the majority of the performance issues sorted. There are a number of gameplay changes; heavy shell drop on tanks/LAVs (I think the drop is way too pronounced personally), limited ammo reserves on vehicles that slowly regenerate, general gameplay is slightly slower (with, for example, start up time when running, and slower time to ADS properly after running) and so on. That said it's not drastically different to BF3, so if you really didn't like BF3 you probably won't like BF4.

maybe it was because its only 1 map and it is GIGANTIC Run for 2 mins get to position die. They were talking about turning it into a "esport" not with this map size they have.

That's like saying you're not able to forcefield properly and therefore SC2 can't be an esports.

Run the ball to kick a goal and the keeper just stops it. People talk about this being a sport? Not with the field shape they have.

No, in modern fps you run for 5-10 seconds, then you die. (I know thats not what you meant ![]() As someone who enjoyed BF3 immensely and got 17 service stars beyond 100 colonel. My initial impression is that the beta feels very different from bf3. Recoil and suppression is very different. Being able to see you sq mates fp view while in deployment is a big deal. The new mobility of vehicles and more classes being able to deal with armor changes quite a lot. Infantry movement feels like BC2. All in all, the major overhaul feels different. With the biggest improvements being spectator mode and the minor improvements.

But, what I really like is the new recoil and supression in bf4. The bigger squads are awesome and all those minor improvements, like the green line showing where your next order is on the minimap is an huge improvement. The reloading system is kinda strange imo. I mean it sucks that you engage 2 or more vehicles out of a good position and you can't really play out the advantage you got yourself in, because the reloading at one point gets horrible slow. Better have limited ammo overall... I have to play much more =)

Scrims are different from general pub play too, dont judge anything from just this beta & just 1 map. I have a complain to make. Some smart aleck took a vehicle, parked it behind A spawn in the out of combat zone & in the water so it cant be gotten too, and used it as a constant spawn point backstabbing A. There is a bug there that doesnt destroy that vehicle when its out of combat zone. Playing in US team is aggravating with that bug when the enemy poses a constant threat behind your frontline and they threaten the flag every 10sec or so,even when you've cleaned them out.

Tanks in general feel heavily nerfed, although i cant really make a judgement on that before i know how all the other mechanics work (especially countermeasures). Buffffed RPGs (that can even lockon lazed targets now!) are a bitch especially with the new disable mechanic and high roofs/limited ammo on tanks. Getting disabled from a roof RPG is basically a death sentence atm. Also Minimap is horrible in this game, the worst thing about it is that you cant expand it like you could in bf3 wich was a important tool for tankers, choppers and even inf/infsquadleaders. The full map isnt a good replacement and rebinding it to a more usefull key is still buggy. Check this out for LULZ:

If I was compairing this game to Counter strike it would be like compairing Farmville with Civilization 5...

When it comes to shooting mechanics yes (though BF4 has more recoil than BF3 in general i feel). But BF series were never focused on twitch shooting and recoil control like other shooters. So its quite a stupid comparison. BFs shallow shooting mechanics compared to CS are made up for with strategical deepth. CS is rather shallow strategically and doesnt offer a fraction of the possibilities a 32v32 BF match does when it comes to openings alone. Not to mention that a CS strat basically consists of the opening timings, money management and lowplayercount inf tactics while a BF conquest strat consists of opening, mid and lategame strategy, loadout choice, combined arms tactics, troop logistics, scouting and a lot more. You might aswell use your Farmeville/CIV5 example to argue against CS.

I don't see what should ever be wrong with that. Also the same stupid bugs when vaulting over objects and taking half your health in damage for who knows what reason. I feel like I've been seeing that since the BF3 beta.
