Also, he's been playing BW on his stream lately, if you needed any more reason to watch.

+ Show Spoiler [my terrible splits] + Ignore the spilts up to Thunder Badge, because I haven't completed a whole run they are sum of best splits. Was going to be a terrible like 2:50 or so lol ![]() I haven't touched the game in 6 months but I rolled through rock tunnel without any mistakes besides fighting an extra picnicker...

As far as I know, Blastoise is faster for Any% but for E4 R2 Zapdos is faster. While I don't know for certain, I bet it's because Zapdos's agility is so high so naturally outspeeds a lot of stuff, has agility as a move which acts as two x speeds and has naturally high offensive stats. Additionally, E4R2 needs to catch 60 pokemon too so you're less penalised for going into the power plant.

Isn't Diablo more RNG than Pokemon (in terms of item drops and map generations)? ![]()

The maps are just a couple of files that go with your character in D2's saves folder, so it's easy to maintain the same map forever for speedrunning purposes. All that said, I have never seen a D2 speed run, so I've no idea what they do with it.

Normally in single player, the map that generates the first time you play that difficulty persists for as long as you 1) play single-player, and 2) don't change difficulty (hell -> nightmare, etc). If you play on local multiplayer or change the difficulty, the map will also be recreated. Here: http://speeddemosarchive.com/Diablo2LoD.html Also, Mystery Tournament #5 top eight participants (finals) is tomorrow... I've never seen it before, but djWheat is talking about how this tournament is apparently based around assigning games to speedrun to people who have never speedran them before. Even more fun is the Diablo 1 run, since there maps were generated as you entered them: 3 Minutes, 27 segments. ![]()

You never have to search for the next staircase? That looks too simple. EDIT: Those were some crazy exploits lol.

The instant specific unique drops and sequenced teleports are madness, and everything is... like... perfect. It makes me wonder if a TAS (though PC TAS's are rare...) would even be that much faster.
