That's 64 builds/battles. Seems modest enough.

![]() ![]() ![]() I don't have a screenshot of my first complete run (it was a terrible 2:21:XX lul). However I have recordings of my last two runs but I have 28k dial up so there is no way in hell I can upload them so I can claim to be the 7th fastest in the world. Now about my PB. It's terrible. Like very terrible. As you can see I lost over 2 minutes in Giovannis' gym. That's because I was checking OBS to see if it was still recording the game (idk why but it has cut out the game video twice) and messed up my movement and hit an extra trainer, thus having to heal up (well box trick) at the pokecenter after because I wouldn't have enough Surfs to defeat Giovanni, let alone Route 22 Rival. Other crap like S.S. Anne Rival's Kadabra spamming Kineses (-accuracy) while I was leach seeded that cost me an extra minute. Along with a bunch of other time saves I could easily save at least 5 minutes, and that's before factoring in having good luck. That brings me to Wersters' WR of 2:05:24. I think it's garbage. Time should be a lot closer to MEvRNGs 2:01:22 (EMU so it doesn't count for 'WR' purposes anymore, fucking double standards). Once I consider myself actually good at this game I'll buy a DS, DS capture (much cheaper than the other route of Gamecube+capture disc+gameboy player+GBA SP) and get the WR. However that won't be for a long time.

My first run was 1:55, third run is 1:12. Sub 1 hour is definitely possible, maybe even sub 50 depending mostly on a safe but quicker strat for the final mission. Currently trigger it at 7:30 which still gives me some leeway.

However that won't be for a long time. Just remember DS Phat has faster loading times for 3rd gen so you'll need to get that (Its cheaper as well). Its a shame new 3ds is coming out soon since the loading times are likely going to screw over DS runners like myself who already own a capture card (Gen 3 being released on the eshop for new 3ds is always a possibility as well). In terms of my own speedrunning news: I broke beginner / standard WR for Days any% by a huge amount. The new route is amazing and i'm working on beating Irico358's proud mode time. There is also going to be a Kingdom Hearts marathon and I think i'll be doing both GBA chain of memories and 358/2 standard mode / maybe all missions (Which I recently got the world record in by doing a blind run).

They even have good splits by the time I start watching. =[ Technically this is what you should probably expect to happen. The point of speedrunning is generally at least to improve your old time, so most runs that are actually continuing should have "good splits"; and then almost every run fails to actually be good enough to be a new personal best so you should expect failure. So it's not really you!

And aside from that ... I really like my SuperMeatBoy! ![]() And while many people don't like watching people speedrun them, but as RPG-fan I enjoy the incredible planning and "figuring out" of Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasies, ... But if I was questioned by a "outsider" what they should watch to get into speedrunning, I would avoid RPGs like hell! ![]()

Still, I guess Vice City is up there, as it is "my game". Also Super Meat Boy, as I like Ouga's stream as well and I tune in to it regularly. Other than that, it really depends.
