If it isn't nostalgic factor it has to be really impressive to me in terms of skill. I love RPG's / FF but i can't watch speedruns since they're just shit tbh. Luckily Nostalgia + really impressive = OoT and SM64 for me. I know, im mainstream. Every GDQ i'll sit and watch all the games ive played before regardless though, shit like FF, Ecco, Earthworm Jim, even if its boring, its always interesting to see the first time for me. If i havent seen it, it has to be entertaining like F-Zero was. Streamers have a huge impact too, i really dislike some personalities. Idk who runs RE at GDQ, Carcinogen or TheEnglishMan but he is annoying as fuck and i have to ragemute my stream until its over, thankfully ive never found him on his personal stream  .I watched some GTA during that big triathlon that happened and it was really fun despite me thinking it was going to be shit :D | ||

Outside of games that I run, I really enjoy watching a lot of the Zelda games (WW, OoT, aLttP, some MM categories) and many games I used to play in my childhood (MMBN series (esp. 1 and 6 which have excellent speedruns), Keen 4-6, Lost Vikings). Other than those, I watch for the streamer and not really the game e.g. pretty much anything KirkQ does. | ||

Basically nothing happens Unless you were watching the original KH1 (Which is a terrible speedrun) there are no cutscenes in the series anymore. Biggest issue is the gummi's (Which the handhelds don't have) and the Roxas section in KH2 (which is just tedious and boring) 358/2 is the best KH to speedrun though as it is 2 hours of platforming / menuing into a hour long boss rush. | ||

Drazerk why you lie? CoM has the cutscene of doom at the beginning you of all people should know how awful it is to watch that damn thing 20+ times while trying to get a barrel blizzard. :p and com > 358/2 especially now that its been optimized to drunken levels of risk and over optimization it's become. The fact it is no long blizzard/fire raid spam on anything makes the run so much more interesting | ||

If your twitch stream is just the game video (or if you can crop out everything that's not game video without affecting the game video) and the game audio then local recording your twitch stream is fine (unless your video quality is too bad for SDA, but that's pretty unlikely). Otherwise you'd need to do something like use Dxtory or Fraps to capture the game video + audio separately (or probably you could use a DVD recorder or similar, I don't know since I don't have one), and then you'd use the dxtory capture as your video source instead of the game directly. The big downside to the dxtory/fraps option is that you're doing all the capturing and encoding twice so it's a much bigger load on your computer. I don't believe OBS has support for multiple audio channels so no mic if you're going to be using OBS's local recording for SDA submission. | ||

Marathon is just a group of folks having fun and running through games, not taking donations for anything, just somewhere to hang out and enjoy speedruns for a bit.
