Constant action and it's 10x easier to follow... I didn't even know what was going on but I was having MAJOR heart palpitations...It was great... Kinda like Quake 3. I mean look at basketball, you're pretty much just trying to get the ball in the net but it's exciting as Hell.
SC2 is a lot less prone to sick comebacks like that Sentinel thing, anyone getting close to being as emotional as Fchamp would be labeled BM, and with SC2 there's a lot less "damn, I can't believe he pulled that shit off" moments. Usually it's just builds and execution.
Mad respect to Infrit. Made a fan out of me. Seriously going to start mixing more Nova in my own play. Between Combo and Infrit, Nova was just getting me hype. Grown-ass man.
Respect to Champ for running it back with Dorm. Way more impressive and fun to watch than Phoenix.
That finals was good, winner aside. Hyped as fuck for AE now. Break time then LET'S GO. DIEMINION

too many tournaments
this is once a year and is by far the largest one.
More like atmosphere, culture and game. I've been to Evo and GSL grand finals and they are totally different. Still both scenes are cool in their own ways.
my impression (based on v limited experience) is that fighting games just tend to draw a rowdier sort of person.

FGC is more rowdy regardless.
They love getting loud.
Btw I believe it has a lot to do with SC2 being a computer game that you mostly play alone at home, also the game lasts long and requires concentration - not much room for chatter.
Fighting games are generally played on consoles, in the same room with other people. The rounds last for a short time and inbetween you usually talk about stuff, this generally makes people a lot better socially etcetc and this has been my experience as well

Also SC is played in a soundproof booth, whereas FGs are played in the middle of the crowd

Yeah, now E-sports exactly mirrors conventional physical sports in terms of variety of crowds.

agree, except I'm skeptical about the "damn" moments. at least in BW, there were definitely builds played that drew "WTF, I can't believe this is working" reactions (Bisu double proxy gate in opponent's mineral line comes to my mind immediately). even so, though, these breakthrough moments tend to be treated as tactical victories, so I see what you mean about the "I can't believe he pulled that shit off" gut reaction. I guess what comes closest in SC2 is some sick micro, but that's very very rarely game deciding!

There is mad trash talking while playing from everyone.
yeah you have to be comfortable with people yelling at you from 5 feet away while playing a match.... and not always yelling nice things
i'd like to see some info on how many viewers tl brought the stream by having it as a featured stream
