This is mainly due to the time it takes to setup gems and they didn't want things running too long. Gems are what actually make matches a little more interesting. Without them the game is incredibly stale. That said, I still don't really enjoy the game overall, but it IS better to both play and watch when gems are used. No, it's just the game itself. TTT2 is actually looking incredibly solid at this point. Agreed. The problems this game has in terms of gameplay outside of gems are that they pretty much used a modified form of the SF4 engine for the game, rather than a new, revamped system. From what I've seen, very few Tekken players like the game because even though the Tekken characters are there, little to none of them actually work competitively. As you can see from Top 3, there are absolutely no Tekken characters. All the infinites, glitches, and arguments about the gem system just make the game even worse. It's not a terrible game, it's just a very linear version of SF4 with characters that have a really strong edge over other characters. Tekken Tag 2, just from watching Tekken Busters looks very, very good. EDIT: Infiltration & Laugh win! Using the best.

I really don't know what Capcom can do to make this game better.
