On the other hand, I will say that the end of the alien base mission scared me shitless. For most missions, if an alien doesn't die in one turn, it definitely dies in two, so if it doesn't 1 shot you, you can heal up and go on your way. But I went to the base with only support, so by the end all my guys were hurting anywhere from a little to half their life - just from unlucky shots that hit into cover and the odd grenade. I haven't made any effort to rank up multiple squads, so if they had gone down - that would have likely been a GG moment. | ||

As some others, I also use 2 snipers with squad sight and double tap and use a assault speced in defensive abilities to scout. I keep my support and 2 heavy in the back on overwatch. Most of the missions my troops don't even get hit. | ||

Sadly i couldn't watch more than 4 minutes of it, too much brain cancer in there. Sad to see such people giving opinions on things they are nowhere near qualified to do so. | ||

Need to try Double Tap if I level up another sniper or on future playthroughs, at least it's more reliable/less situational than ITZ I guess. | ||

Normal + Ironman: The very first Mission I lose 2 guys to pure randomness... One sat on a truck, missed the Alien below him (75% or something hit chance) and the little bugger critted him --> Dead. Second one also sat behind cover, who cares.. Pewpew Dead... But it was probably for the best of mankind, these 2 guys couldn't hit an elephant when it stands right before them. So, at this moment I was angry and decided to rambo it and then restart... Well.. As it seems I actually have Rambo in my team because he was bullet (rather death) proof and killed 4 Aliens whiteout even thinking about cover anymore (he did use it when it was there anyway, but mostly he took a very direct approach) :D. He is swedish, so I named him Viking. So, after this mission I get to promote for the 2 survivors: Assault + Support... I was like "Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeh". Didn't matter, they were hospitalised for the next 2 Missions anyway (1 HP and 2 HP left ^^)... What happened till now/after: I lost 2 VIP's in missions due to being retarded (1 to avoidable poison, other because I tought that skinny guy wouldn't shoot that far anyway..  . Something this stupid never happened to me before and now twice -.-.Somehow managed to do the first terrorist mission with only losing 2 civilians and nothing else. I played for most of the game whiteout a sniper because I didn't get one and the one I had from a mission died to 4 invisible Mutons (scanner disc showed nothing, he went into the room.. r.i.p). I really begin to like "Assault" troops... Mainly because I have like double the amount of em and all in pretty decent ranks... They are really handy if you need to quickly kill that big guy (doubleshot, yay).. Fighting Mutons, Cyberdisks and stuff... But I still have not catched an Alien, Weapons/Armor/Satelites just seemed way more important. Let's see, but this time the game actually looks better than anything before... We'll see how the first "Terrorist" mission with discs and all that shit goes . | ||

I lost a bunch of guys over time, but for some reason my main assult guy have not missed a mission, lucky man. The thing that really annoys me is that they shoot through walls on overwatch almost ALL the time - heck, my sniper shot through a whole building once. It's also evil when you advance and a berserker pops up 2 squares behind you | ||

When I start without tutorial everything is ok but instead of flying back to base I fly to the north pole. And then all of my missions are in the north pole. Or something. I dunno honestly. I also can't promote troops and the lady keeps yelling at me to promote troops. Guess they didn't think anyone would try without tutorial. | ||

the first few hours were fine, having to advance very carefully and meeting a pack of aliens was quite exciting. now maybe 8 hours in my squadmembers are nearly all max rank, equipped with plasma weapons and titan armor and i kinda wish i had an a-move, that's how easy it got. i'm playing on normal difficulty. | ||

Maybe you should try to reinstall the game. | ||

2 Support 2 Sniper 1 Assault 1 Heavy I liked the game , but i think it has some major flaws compared to Terror of the deep for example , once you get pass the early / mid game. The last 10-15 mission are practictly a joke even on impossible. I think i lost only 1 soldier and that was my bad. Once your snipers have maximum perks and 100% / jetpacks it almost becomes really tedious and boring. The only reason i cared to finish the game at this point was because i spent so many fucking hours wiping on the early game. Also the predetermined maps are meh. Overall 9/10 considering i would give the original games 11/10. | ||

It starts out fine, like 200 FPS, and then gradually goes down over time with a lot of hissing and popping. Temps are fine, everything is fine on my end other games run fine for example. And ive tried about every version you can name. | ||
