EDIT: Lol, 3rd person DOTA? :D EDIT 2: Just played my first game.... some people are absolute morons at this game. If anyone has some groups going I'd love to be part of them. I'm brand new but I at least know the basics of the game (have voice comms too). | ||

I was pretty much the best player like 4 weeks ago but I quit because no ranked and I was never improving and BARELY competing with what little scrims there were at the time. I come back to find Bad performance relative to all other players including low in match level, low gold gained, low Kill/Assist relative to death will result in a skill rating penalty. What a fucking joke. That's beyond bad design. That is actual danger. This is the saddest thing I've seen in patch notes and I've been playing Riot's game for 2 years. I have a discussion with a top player I know, and it turns out I'm the first person he's seen bash it. I'm the first, on this obviously stupid ruling. I knew this HiRez was incapable of making a game worth playing. They told me many times to take issues up to the forums because they read every post on their forums (what a joke). They fix their aura items when aura-stacking existed, but not on Mystical Mark (what a joke). I don't want to bash them too much on balance because they've said themselves they suck at the game. I acknowledge that banning pick increases the amount of options and gives more strategical depth, but I hoped HiRez would realize that its a joke of a game if the best Nidalee player in the world can't play Nidalee in tournaments because she gets banned. Any motivation I had to play this game anymore is gone. I can't say it hard enough. Smite is a joke. And I gave it more of a chance than it deserved. I am beyond indifferent to this game. I actively wish it's failure. If you want to try your hand at this game competitively, don't. They have proved time and time again they are even worse than Riot. (btw I gave no detail on any of these things to keep my message of fuck this game short but I can expand on any of it) | ||

About bans: it is just a shame that HiRez is willing to do nothing to explore this genre. Imagine a fighting game where you can ban characters. It is stupid. Like I said, I acknowledge why bans add depth to the game, but again, a game where the best player of x can't play that character in a tournament is stupid. They should do something about this without sacrificing depth. It isn't something wrong since no one else has gotten it right, but Smite is adding nothing new to the genre. | ||

The ability to ban certain champions adds depth, forces players to master a variety of playstyles, which is fine. In fighting game in-houses it's not that uncommon to have bans either.
