I'm doing light armour at the moment. I actually have ~56 poise (with wolf ring) so I don't get stun locked by light weapons. It's actually quite an easy playstyle, you just have to approach the fight like you would a boss; you don't rush in and fuck them, you chip away at the openings and chip harder if you think you can get away with it.
I use a Rapier at the moment, it's pretty damn good to poke with. I've faced quite a few heavy lads so far and they're the easiest to beat, especially when they think they can tank an Emit Force on the shield. I also got a Darkmoon bow with poison arrows but haven't really had the chance to use it. I decide I'm going to pull it out after my Sunlight blade wears off.
To be honest, as long as you don't get yourself hit then however skimpy your armour is won't matter.
I've just started frapsing so hopefully I can put up some videos soon.
what are the big weapons for faith dex builds? I'm looking at making a +15 bandit's knife and a +15 iaito, which I can buff with sunlight or darkmoon blade depending on covenant.

I don't really think there's such a thing as faith dex weapons. It's obviously a viable build (most builds are), but I don't think there are any weapons that scale so well with faith AND dex that it's worth building for it. If you go for dex, you go for uchigatana, iaito or washing pole, if you go for faith, you usually go for a faith/str build.

Hate that thing.
I hated that boss the most, but beat it on my first try today as lvl 16. Just goes to show that if you know the basics of Dark Souls (IE beaten it once), nothing is ACTUALLY hard in this game. Which is nice, because it proves that the game is not actually cheap. Capra demon is IMO the cheapest boss in the game, but it's still easy as hell if you know what you're doing.

Well, there's nothing that scales off both, so most faith/dex builds stop at 30 faith just so they can use moonlight/sunlight blade buffs. Light weapons like the daggers are easily blocked even by medium shields, have no reach so easily dodged and will never ever ever stagger anyone, so they're generally reserved for backstabbing, which if you have tranquil walk of peace, is easy to do, although it's a cheap combo. A katana won't stagger anyone that has some poise(30+ I think), but at least it has more reach and damage than a dagger. I roleplayed for a while with a chaos iato and lightning washing pole in each hand, but katanas aren't the most useful of weapons for pvp, though they can work and are fun to use(the running/backstep stab attack is especially quick for chasing runners). If you are really set on a very light weapon, I would recommend vow of silence miracle so someone doesn't just combustion your face from out of range, and possibly tranquil walk of peace so they can't easily roll away. Bandit's knife is a pretty good weapon if you plan on backstabbing a lot, but for regular attacks it won't do much, and you usually won't be able to make anyone bleed if they're any good at dodging. The washing pole katana especially has some suprising reach, and katanas are pretty cool weapons, just not necessarily very strong, so they require a lot of skill to use, and not overextend yourself.

Yeah, that's a good way to use light sets. People in heavy sets just can't keep up with you if you roll around or run away, and in pvp you can't take chances in a straight up fight unless you are extremely specialized for it, so the mobility is good. If you know your moveset very well, and know how to dodge adequetely, it's difficult for others to get you. 54+ poise is a good number to have, only the ultra greatswords, greataxes, and greathammers will stun you(76 to not get stunned by those, 2 hits will though unless you have more). Poise is definitely THE most important stat for pvp. Many a battle has been won by both players black knight greataxeing each other until one of them is stunned and loses
Finished my first playthrough, such a great feeling. Although now that I've allowed myself to check wikis, I've missed a lot of secret areas and covenants. Gonna start a new playthrough with a high dex build, go chaos blade + join darkwraiths and try some pvp, looks fun!

There's a lot of stuff hidden very well in the game, but generally there isn't very much that you need to get multiple times, so you could just do new game +. The only things to get would be extra copies of spells and rare materials and non-buyable weapons you want 2 of for some reason(multiple upgrades paths or dual wield), and anything you missed.
If you got everything the first time through in the game you don't really need to pick up any items in new game + at all, as most of them are just souls which you get way more of just farming or duplicates of what you already have. You can't wear duplicate rings, more than 1 of each armor is useless, so all you need to get are extra spells and materials, and occasionally maybe unique weapons you want more of(dual wield Zweihanders anyone? ).
Yeah, main reason is that I screwed up my attributes though, wasn't aware how weapon scaling works so my char is kinda average at all styles and great at nothing
and I don't really want to level up a lot to sort that out, as I've been told its best to stay at a reasonable level for co-op/invading
Going for SL120 I guess, will just fill in the remaining points with whatever I need. I'm excited because it's my first truly themed build, and also it's STR heavy which is fun because if I get bored I can whip out a lot of the giant weapons I've never ever used.
Weapon sets: Pyro Glove - L // R - Dragon Bone Fist [Ifrit Gauntlets] Dark Hand - L // R - Gravelord Sword [Sparda] Dual Painting Guardian Swords, Fire and Lightning [Agni & Rudra] And some regular sword/greatsword Lightning enchanted for Alastor (haven't decided which one yet, suggestions?)
Should be fun. Almost done collecting stuff and farming upgrades in NG, then off to NG+ for a couple things and PvP with bosses alive. My personal favorite is hanging out in the forest while Sif is alive, that's what I did almost always on my old PvP toon from many months ago. Though I think this time around I'm definitely going to check out the Burg and maybe the Kiln
Wow, I take back what I said before about the bosses not being tough enough. Gravelord Nito is an asshole. Always hitting me through the ground with his sword when i try to heal T.T. Not to mention his invincible minions and those giant skeletons you aggro if you go too far. blegh

Katanas are one of the best PvP weapons. Range and speed decimate anything that is shorter and anything that takes longer to swing. A slash into a sideroll slash is an amazing combo. I'd say Katanas are the best weapon by far, any damage that is negated by its slash damage is more than made up for with an easy bleed.
Faith dex builds work because dex gives you a faster casting speed. I'm doing one myself and all you need is 30 faith for the majority of spells + sunlit/darkmoon blade (the most powerful enhancer). Any dex weapon, from daggers to curved, katanas and rapiers upped to +15 and an enhancer does a loooot of damage. You can even add in a shortbow or a Darkmoon bow (dex/faith scaling) for more variety.
Any weapon is viable, you just need practice with it and understand what and who your opponent is. Daggers are viable without backstab if you can slip in 1-3 hits per enemy swing and even bust a parry.
Quick question, I've got a +10 Claymore at the moment, and I'm now standing at a giant blacksmith, and I can apparently upgrade my Claymore to a Lightning Claymore. Yes/no?

you are better off if you upgrade the claymore to +15 instead. Lightning weapons dont scale with your stats which makes them weaker as you progress further in you levels.

I killed the firekeeper at the start of Anor Londo, because I found that bonfire inside the castle thingy, and it seems that the bonfire below the elevator thingy can't be used either, so I'll have to go through the castle all over again when I inevitably die at the boss. ;_;

This depends on your stats. Unless you have good str/dex, a +15 claymore sucks compared to a +5 lightning claymore. Since it only has a C scaling, you need quite a lot of stats to make up for all that lightning damage.
Starting to think that becoming a Darkwraith was a bad idea. Out of the last 5 invasions, 2 of them were infinite HP hackers (all hit do 0 dmg) and one of them was wearing that armor you get in the Ceaseless Discharge room, and he had fucking crazy defense and my +5 chaos Iaito was doing little dmg. What was weird is that for a second right before the fight started, some big ass number like "635,104" went over his head. Is that normal? He wasn't even fighting anything.
>>also i'm lv 50
might just stick to arena i think they're less opt to infinite hp hack there lol
