You shouldn't really have to fight the basilisks, they are only in the area you fall down into if you mess up.

I don't think you've missed anything, the fog gate leads to a boss which drops the key to blighttown, the next area(bring blooming purple moss clumps), which you use on the door by the merchant Domnhall of Zena(he's pretty close to the boss behind an open iron grate in the room with a square pool of water, 2 rats and 2 slimes, later moves to firelink under burg bridge). The Basilisk (frog-assholes) area has the Ring of the Evil Eye if you didn't get it yet (which heals 30 hp for every enemy killed), but it's not that important/useful except at low levels. The large ember was behind the first butcher in the chest, but I assume you probably got that(spider shield also if you + Show Spoiler + fall behind where the butcher was , useful for blighttown but shows up later in valley of the drakes too). There is also an NPC invader just before the start of the basilisk area, you have to be human for it to happen, you have to do all 3 fights with him for his armor. + Show Spoiler +Demon Ruins and Lost Izalith are the other 2 By bonfire before the rat, do you mean the one behind the locked door in the hall with slimes and a torch zombie? That's the only bonfire in the depths. So there must be a shortcut to the bonfire, right? I mean, it's pretty far away otherwise, from the boss. I think I'll just port back to the bonfire and re-explore or something.

edit: By the way, I bought the Crystal Shield, but I noticed that you can't parry with it. Should I stick with it anyway? I was using Knight Shield before.

It's not far from the boss, shortcut behind the boxes, exit the door to the bonfire and go to the right, where you can see where the giant rat was, then turn left and go down the ladder behind the boxes. The door there will lead to the room where domnhall is/was, just go forward and then right before the grate to find the exit to the boss. NPC invader should be gotten before boss, you can't get him after.
Crystal stuff usually sucks because it can't be repaired (except by upgrading it one level will fully repair it).

Any suggestions where I should try invading? I'm 68 and I've tried Anor Londo, New Londo ruins, Darkroot woods, and I can't find any customers.
|
You could join the cat covenant and invade with the ring. It's possible that on PC the forest isn't filled with high level gankers on PC. There are the other pvp covenants too.
It seems strange you can't invade anyone in Anor Londo. I can never walk from the bonfire to the boss area in human form without being invaded.

Hmm, for your level, maybe you could try demon ruins/lost izalith, catacombs/tomb of the giants, possibly dukes archives or painted world as well. Final area, the kiln of the first flame, is one of the best spots if you've unlocked it, one of the highest invasion rates. The covenent rings (cat covenent ring and darkmoon blade covenent ring) sometimes work better if your level is mismatched for the area. Alternatively, you could also go to new game + and level up to 100-130, since everyone will be in that range in every area there.

i think right now a lot of people are in the sanctuary and do the DLC content. So your best chances are to try invade someone in the new content.

Funnily enough, I was summoning someone(which ended up failing) to help me beat Ornstein and Smough, and a different guy got summoned into my game to help me (the glitch of wrong invasion type, happens rarely anywhere, anytime). The guy messaged me after, supposedly was trying to invade in the new area, and instead got summoned into my game as a white phantom. Was glad he came to help anyway though.

Woohoo! Just farmed my first titanite slab. Been having trouble invading people too though, haven't been summoned once by the cat ring in like an hour, weird...
Edit: Woohoo! Second slab in half an hour! Got super lucky I guess.

Man. I feel like I shouldn't come here to bitch at every boss, but I guess I will because I'm terrible. Gaping Dragon is kicking my ass hardcore. I keep getting hit by his charge attack. I've got all his moves down, but that god damn charge attack keeps hitting me even though I'm rolling like a madman.

Stand next to the back left leg and just swing away at his tail. You'll literally get hit by nothing.

Running instead of rolling helped. Wooh.
edit: My friend is having problems playing the game with his 360 control, it's unresponsive, and the ring with the lights just keep flashing, it never sets on player 1 etc. Anyone know how to fix it?

The bonfire directly after the Artorias fight/arena is prime Darkwraith hunting ground. You will probably find markings warning of invasions highly voted up too, since it's so common and dangerous.

Yeah, he did, but it still doesn't work. Oh well! Thanks anyway.

Do you guys think the connection system is region based? Cannot seem to connect to anyone in the arena even though im standing opposite the red rings and I can't find anyone to invade as Darkmoon other than 1 or 2 people.

the arena is laggy as hell anyway. If you want to find people as darkmoon i suggest that you try invading in the area behind Artorias. But it would not surprise me if GfWL is region locking the invasions.

Equip light armor so you have good running speed. Just stand away from him and wait for him to shake his head and charge forward. When he stops, he stands still for few seconds, which is enough to get 3 hits on his tail. Just be careful when he jumps in the air, when you see that start running.
Does anyone know if PC and PS3 players can interact in co-op?

invading people who have infinite health is so fun. literally the guy stood there, and i did no dmg to him whatsoever, backstabs, you name it, nothing. then i give up and let him kill me...yay
