I've been farming for the last few days, both souls and titanite slabs. Souls in the painted world and slabs from darkwraiths. Boy, do those wraiths do not want to share their slabs. I got 3 slabs in about 8 hours of farming. About 80 runs (counting with homeward bones). I'm 104 or 105 at this point, with a +15zwei, +15uchi, +5lightning halberd and various other weapons at +14. Got fully upgraded sentinel armour, crimson set (since it upgrades with twinkling which you can just buy) and +9 elite knight's full set. I'll try to write more witty reports, but to be completely honest the game has lost it's exciting difficulty. My most difficult opponents are now ledges and jumps. Figuring out were to put the other stat points since I'm at 40VIT 40END 40DEX is now the hardest part of the game. I've been thinking of putting aonther 5 into DEX for both damage and cast speed since I did go pyromancy and got the flame ascended and upgraded to the max. Maybe more points into END because I want fast rolls or even ninja flips in Elite Knight's, I'll do some maths on the character planner. What level do people generally PvP at on the PC steam version? I was reading that it ranges mostly from 100 to 120? Would it hinder my experience if I went to 125 or even 135?

That's one of the great things about this game, no matter how many hours you put in it it can always surprise you. I have about 250h in the game and only recently found that there is a chest hidden behind giant blacksmith in Anor Londo!

Sure the scaling isn't as great (like any skill) after 40, but anything in dex/strength won't add much damage at all and 5 points in dex for cast speed is pretty negligible in my opinion. The extra health is just good. The other option is End to either stay in the same weightclass with better armor or go up one weight class, but it's something you'd have to calculate. doing this restricts any armor changes/ring choices you might want to make from then on out. One thing to note is if you enjoy using the halberd (i sure do) it's worth removing the lightning ascension and turning it back to +15, the C/C scaling with a 40/40 quility build will do much more damage, especially in pvp, and especially with the leo ring. As to the PvP meta, anything at soul level 95-130 will grant you a lot of traffic. I usually keep my pvp accounts to 95 to avoid brandon builds alone (even though i know the parry timings that build is fucking ridiculously hard to deal with). I really need help with a problem. Ever since the steam re-release i'm finding that mouse support for the game is just gone. I realise a lot of you probably use a controller but I've got over 400 hours (mostly pvp) worth of muscle memory on keyboard/mouse and really don't want to switch (unless the alternative is not playing the game again). Any related topics i can find are from 2012/2013 regarding DS fix and the fact that the cursor would be visable, but nothing about mouse support being suddenly gone. Please help if you know anything about it. Edit: further information about the mouse issue: it sometimes work's on the menu/character selection screen, just not ingame. At this point i'm wondering if its something to do with DSfix.

Not sure about the mouse thing. When I switched to steamworks I didn't notice any difference in mouse performance (though I don't use dsfix, but wasn't there a recent update to make it work properly?). Luckily for me I bought 360 controller recently just for Dark Souls, though I might get DA:I and I read that controller is way better for it than k&m so that's good ![]()

For experienced players it becomes less important because they have mastered the dodging, blocking and parrying mechanics a lot better already.

The new DSFix for the steam release doesn't seem totally on point, I can't unlock FPS anymore without the game crashing, so maybe the mouse support is broken too? You can only hope they'll fix it soon :<

Other stats reduce the amount of times you can possibly make errors by shortening fights. Obviously none of those are really necessary, i don't think there is a single point of dmg that you can not avoid, so you can finish the game naked at level 1 in as many NG+++ as you want, if you don't make mistakes. I'd still say that vita is very, very useful to have, as it often allows you to take another hit and then a sip from your flask afterwards, instead of dying and having to corpserun.

The person i was quoting was on a first time run, so i advised just to get more Vit or End (based on if it would actually allow for better armor). If he invests those points in Str/Dex he will only get around 10-40 more damage on his attacks for many souls invested which in late NG or NG+ is nothing as enemies can have thousands of hp. It seems to me his character is horribly over leveled for NG, but that seems to happen a lot for first time players. I should add that i haven't done a PvE run for quite some time, the last 250 or so hours I've played have all been PvP, so my advice may be ill remembered. I may end up doing a blog post or something similar about my favorite PvP builds/tips/tricks though. There's actually a lot of depth to the PvP. Followup to the mouse situation, if anyone encounters this in the future. I'm almost 100% certain its due to DSfix. I've since removed DSfix and now cant boot the game (game tries to boot then seemingly closes itself - apparently a common problem when removing DSfix) so probably don't remove it entirely unless you want a clean install, or at least back up the files. I'm thinking that's the only option left at this point but my internet cap is extremely small so it will take a while to confirm it. Trying other stuff in the meantime and will post progress.
